I looove Stardust Skate Center. I used to take my daughter there when she was younger and wasn't old enough to get into clubs. Then, even when she was old enough to go 'clubbing',...

Good family fun 12/17/2005

Great place on Rivers Ave behind Pizza Inn and Pep Boys. They are open a variety of hours with different “skate’ Themes. One night is for adults, another is family night, etc. Generally Fri & Sat nights are for the kids and teenagers. Relatively safe but there’s always a bad element everywhere. If you’ve never taken your kids there, go with them first and ‘blend in’ to the background and see how you like the place. Decent pro-shop and snack bar. Lots of video games. Great place for birthday parties and they even offer skate lessons if you need to learn how to skate backwards like a pro. Highly recommended for family fun and entertainment. more

Fun! 10/22/2005

Friday and Saturday nights are when kids & teens mostly go. Sundays is for families, and I believe that Wednesday nights are for adults only. Prices are reasonable and have large assortment of arcade games. Also has a food court with standard junky fare of pizzas, hot-dogs, chips, etc. Well-stocked pro shop for all your skating needs. Was unaware that 4-wheeled roller skates were becoming "in" these days again. That makes me happy since I was never able to do well on rollerblades. Also, they allow you to rollerblade here, which is nice. Available for birthday parties which often take place on Saturday and Sunday afternoons. Fun to watch kids do the hokey-pokey while on skates. more

Fun for the whole family! 9/29/2005

I looove Stardust Skate Center. I used to take my daughter there when she was younger and wasn't old enough to get into clubs. Then, even when she was old enough to go 'clubbing', she and her friends still prefered to start the evening off with a good skate before they went dancing (she told me nothing good occured at the clubs until after 10pm). They have adult night for those who don't want to be considered 'geriatric' by the 16-and-younger crowds, and they sell a wide variety of skates and skate products. Very good place to take your kids for fun! more

Let's Get Retro and Skate The Night Away 9/10/2005

Oh! How many millions of miles I must have skated on the warbly floors of Stardust Skate Center as a child, adolescent, and adult. What can be said about a skating rink that hasn't been said before? The shoe room smells like feet, the concession stand floors are sticky and gummy, and you'll be hard pressed to find anyone over the age of 17 there on a Friday or Saturday night. But who cares about that? It's a skating rink. Go ahead, rent some speed skates, get a partner, and skate your night away. They still have the "couple skates" where they will toss out anyone who isn't partnered up. They have the boys only, girls only, and the obligatory hokey pokey. Be a kid again. Strap on the skates, wear your knee-high socks and short-shorts, adjust your stopper and you are ready. to. go! more
