Stardust Celebrations

My recent experience at Stardust was terrible. From the beginning Wendy, our attendant, was talking about how she needed to make sales today. Instead of listening to what I liked and disliked about a dress, she would disappear and return with styles that were the exact opposite. By the end she was making comments under her breath about our opinions, and making comments to me about how she didn't understand my mother's attitude. Stardust's certainly has a large selection, but for personal attention try someplace else. Pros: large selection Cons: staff, attitude more

I am going to keep this short, because I am so outraged it could turn into a tangent. The staff is generally rude and the woman assisting me at the bridal salon could not have been worse at understanding what I wanted. The icing on the cake of my horrible experience, however, occurred when I was looking at invitations and the receptionist and invitation consultant stood four feet away whispering loudly about how cheap and low-class I was. That was news to me, since I am a highly paid professional and have often been complemented on my exceptional taste. Even though I had already picket out my gown and bridesmaid dresses and scheduled fittings, I left the salon immediately, never to return. If you are an impressionable person who feels like people who behave rudely must be important, perhaps Stardust is for you. Otherwise, go elsewhere. Pros: i left alive Cons: everything else more

If you want great dresses go to Lulu's downtown and stear clear of this place! I got my dress at Lulu's but had all my fittings at Stardust (i live in Plano so it made more sense) However not with my bridesmaids at all! they wouldn't even call the 5 girls to tell them the dresses were in and to come get them when they can. When I called to ask about it the women said rudely "thats not our job to call them the bride has to do that" which would have been fine if they would have told me that from the beggining. I find it hard to believe though since David's Bridal and Alfred Angelo called me in the weddings I have been in before and they are much bigger. They also are snobby very except for a few people. Stay away from Myra...she forgets you as soon as you pay the money for whatever you buy. Ruth at Lulu's is great!! But most everyone at Stardust act like they are doing you a favor to even talk to you. We needed to return some jewlery for my mom and they had her orders all on file (she spent a ton of money there) and they were only going to give her store credit b/c someone didn't file it correctly. She even had the receipt and everything! We had to call the owner who told us they were sorry and finally refunded my mom the money. Bottom line is we spent thousands of dollars in this place and it wasn't the experience i was looking for or dreamed about as a bride to be. I felt rushed each and every time i called or was in. We did get our invitation there and that lady was very nice and accomodating. I also had my sister come in from out of state and they tried to tell me that i couldn't have her look at the dress and learn how to tie and bustle it without an appointment. I didnt need anyone to help us I just wanted her to feel comfortable with the dress and get to see it before the big day. They looked at me like I was asking them to make me a five course meal just to try on my very own dress that i paid thousands of dollars for. NOT CUSTOMER SERVICE ORIENTED!!!! As the maid of honor, my bride and I started out at Mockingbird Bridal. I will avoid being derogatory, but in the middle of our time there, I called StarDust and made an appointment. I didn't know anything about the place, but knew they had the kind of dresses we were looking for, so I figured we should give it a try. First, they were happy to get us in on the same day. We arrived and were amazed by the size of the place! It is huge, and absolutely gorgeous. The bridesmaid dresses and invitations were downstairs, and they had a great selection of both. Once our consultant was ready we were called upstairs. We were absolutely enchanted with it! All of the dresses are on display for you to browse, but in a very nice way (similar to the Saks bridal salon at the Galleria). We were happy not to be shoving our way through dresses crammed in plastic bags as we had to do elsewhere. Our consultant took us around and explained each designer, their styles, and price ranges. She then followed us as we selected dresses to try on. She made good suggestions as to where we should look as well. (Although their prices go up to $10,000, do not be discouraged! We found many gorgeous dresses under $2,000 and were still treated like royalty on our small budget.) Our consultant took her time, was knowledgeable without being forceful, sweet without being insincere, and was a huge help. We cherished our experience at StarDust and know that you will too!! more

I am an Austin bride and made the trip to Dallas after seeing the Stardust site and talking to the staff. Upon entering I was greeted by a really nice young woman and was directed to my appointment with Nancy. Nancy was incredible. I didnt know what I wanted so we worked through styles and different looks that fit my body type and after several dresses - I found my dream come true. When my dress arrived, I worked with Kayla, in alterations, to make sure that it fit perfectly. I also worked with Cassie in invitations and couldn't be happier with the outcome. more

Stardust is the only place I had to go to get everything I needed to feel like a princess for my wedding. The staff is absolutely remarkable, especially Marianne Phillips!!!! She was the most attentive and detail oriented person that I worked with in my entire wedding planning. I still talk to her on a regular basis even though I have no more business to do with her. Stardust did everything in a more than timely manner. And every aspect was flawless. Unique dresses, incredible customer service, Stardust honestly made my wedding as great as it could be!!!! After spending a lot of money on my dress & other things, every aspect of my experience was incorrect upon pick up. My dress arrived one month before my wedding and was the wrong color. more

I can't say enough about how wonderful my visits were to Stardust (SD). I went on a regular basis throughout my planning process, & the staff always made me feel welcomed. My bridal consultant, Marianne (MP), was TRULY AMAZING! She made me feel like a princess each time we spoke, which was often. She was always available to answer any question(s). She helped me find the PERFECT dress, exactly what I had been looking for but for about $2K less. It was a perfect fit too when it came in (about 5 months early BTW), which saved me lots on alterations. It needed no alterations because MP had done such a perfect job when taking my measurements & placing the order, which wasn't easy because I added 2' in length to the veil & dress (after being almost 6' tall). Ladies, seriously! I'm extremely picky & MP was touch-notch. She paid closer attention to the details of my special day, then I think I did. I feel like I've made a lifelong friend in her & would highly recommend anyone go see her for any special occasion needs. She helped me through the entire process from my 1st appt - dress preservation, including a FINAL DRESS FITTING. She tracked down a flower girl dress that wasn't available in the US yet. She basically placed the order blind (w/o sample). It was perfect & so original! I could go on & on about how wonderful my dresses & MP are but I don't want to lose sight of the other great people @ SD. Everyone was always helpful. When Marianne wasn't available, one of the other staff members always stepped in to help. Kayla & the alterations staff are magical. They can do just about anything with a needle & thread. One of my bridesmaids basically needed an entirely new dress b/c she had lost so much weight. Kayla & her staff fixed her right up & her dress was flawless! So for you brides just starting out, do yourself a favor & don't go all over town. Those other stores may be good but they don't have the full service experience you get at Stardust! Upon entering the bridal area, I was immediately greeted by a young redhead whose big genuine smile set the tone for the rest of my shopping experience. All of the staff seemed eager to make the day flawless to ensure a memorable and perfect wedding. I didn't have a large budget, but their variety of designers made finding a budget friendly dress easy. Nancy, a bridal consultant, was very, very knowledgeable, helpful and patient during my hour long appointment. With Stardust's help, I found my dress, dresses for my bridesmaids, dresses for my mother and mother-in-law, tuxedos, invitations, and gifts with ease. I recommend Stardust to everyone who wants to be treated like a princess for their special day. Pros: Ambiance, service, variety, quality Cons: Marianne more

Stardust Celebrations was THE WORST part of planning my wedding too. During my first appointment Marianne was extremely late, then cut my appointment short due to another bride coming in. I was told I was not allowed to have a final fitting (which is completely ridiculous...how are you supposed to know if the dress fits? On your wedding day?) To top it all off, they ordered the wrong vail, which I paid almost $500 for. After complaining, they rush ordered another veil, which wasn't even properly finished by the designer, and I don't even think it was from the same designer, quite frankly. I tried to get compensated for my veil, but after several phone calls to the owner, (although she was always cordial) I gave up. I don't have any more time to waste. I would never never NEVER recommend this salon. Run for the hill ladies. Pros: Owner is nice Cons: Customer service is terrible more

Stardust is the place that takes the worry out of wedding planning...you don't have to worry about a thing because they want your wedding to be another Stardust success story and a beautiful event. more

My Wedding planner hooked me up with Marianne at Stardust. She was awesome. She knows what will look good on you for your size, frame, etc. It literally took me less than 10 mins to find my dress. It was the second one I tried on. My experience with Marianne was wonderful!! Pros: Marianne is the best. Cons: Staff is SNOBBY more

What a wonderful experience, with so many people who are knowledgeable about the BIGGEST day of my life. I went to Stardust with no clue to what a wedding dress experience should be, they treated me like a princess even when I told them that my budget was below their gown pricing. I tried on several gowns and they told me about their other salon LuLu's which carried gowns in my budget. After going down to LuLu's I returned to up my budget and purchased my dream dress at Stardust because I could not imagine getting my dress with anyone else after some of my other experiences in town. The staff is helping me by making my dream wedding become a reality. They helped me find the perfect bridesmaid dress to match my gown and the ties my fiance picked out. I have had the invitations designed with custom artwork to reflect the setting of our event and my mom was treated to a day of royalty by their Mother of the Bride Specialist. When I brought in my ring bearer and flower girl they were treated like they were the biggest part of the day. Everyone at Stardust has helped me in someway or another to make every detail of my wedding PERFECT. They even have wedding planners that you get a meeting with for a free hour to pick their brains if you buy a gown with them or hire them for the whole event. more

The staff was amazing! They are extreamly knowledgeable and helpful. I had to arrange my daughters wedding in a very short time because her fiance was leaving for Iraq. I was able to take care of everything - the gown, bridesmaids, invitations and my gown (not to mention all the small items like garter, wedding book..) I could not have done it without their help. I have recomended the salon to everyone I know and can not imagine a better salon. Pros: Beautiful store, very helpful staff more

Buying my wedding dress and working with the staff at Stardust was THE WORST PART OF PLANNING MY WEDDING. After spending over $4000 with them,my mother and I were treated extremely disrepectfully. I would not recommend Stardust to my worst enemy. Orders were filled incorrectly and Stardust was almost IMPOSSIBLE to work with. I would recommend RUNNING (fast) to any other bridal salon.
