AVOID!!!! I brought in my Benz for a new Electronic Ignition Switch (EIS). They quoted me $1250. They had my car for 7 days! Dropped it off Wednesday, they had to order the part "" We'll overnight ship it."" It never arrived. Then they told me they are closed on weekends, so I had to rent a car. Part still didn't come. I called Aristocrat Motors (The ultimate Benz/parts distributor in our are).... They no longer deal with Star Motors! WTF? What did Star Motors do to get shunned from the top Benz Dealer in our area???? Found out they had to get the part from Chicago, which explains why they didn't have the part... and why they kept giving me the run around. \r They finally get the part and call me to say it was ready... on Wednesday: A full 7 days later. Then they charged me $1580. WTF? Handed me my key and said the other was in the car- NO IT WASN'T. Called them and they said ""Look again."" Got a call an hour later ""oh, we have the other key."" But they were about to close. So I will get my key tomorrow and never do business w/ them. \r \r They were completely horrible: overpriced, bad service, and condescending. Never again. \r \r Here is a good recommendation: Kenny's German Import's, North KC, on Burlington. A little more expensive, but no BS mixed in. I've learned my lesson. more

Had my car taken to this location By a Lady for a pre purchase inspection. They Would not return my car to me even though the service had been paid for when they finally made the car avalible to me several days later it was severly damaged they claimed it was a used car so they were not going fix any of the damage they caused even after admitting they caused it? The inspection listed problems with parts that are not even on the car. Don t let these people work on your car. Read the other reviews the only good ones are written by the owner. more

I now give Star Motors high marks for takeing the time to resolve my problem. the shop manager went all out to satisfy me,and he also handled it in a very professional manner. this situation was handled some time ago so Im sorry it took me so long to let you know. I have since been back for other repairs, and Im very pleased with the service. more

Ok first off my mercedes 240D is still sitting at their shop as I type this review, it was totaled mid 2010. It set in a junkyard with tires and other car parts in my F***ing backseat for atleast 3 months before I came to check up on my cars progress. After that it was moved inside, where it sat and sat and sat... finally a whole year of walking to work I decided it had been long enough to get the cheap parts they said they could find, I called and asked how it was going. Nothing. They had not called or emailed as if they forgot I left my car there, not one thing had been touched on my car.be n was the name of my mechanic. Three months after all of that I got a email telling me it was done, Haha guess how much, over $4000 and on top pf that they want to charge me $20 dollars more per day that they still have my car. Will I ever get my beautiful little 240D back? Absolutely love the worst shop to go to in Kansas city. Ben and emery can suck it. Pros: null Cons: null more

With his attention to detail, and commitment to excellence, we have logged over 395,000 mile on the three cars combined to date! With his favorite saying if it?s not broke don?t fix-it. I?m sure he has saved me several hundred dollars over the years. Don?t get me wrong if your car needs to be repaired. Emery will insist, or at least give you all the options, so you can make an informed decision, on the well being of your cars mechanical condition. Stay away!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! they had my car for three months charged me $1700.00 they missed up my transmission ....cost me $4500.00 at dealer to fix it ...they do not have the right people to work on these cars!!!!!!! need a good attorny will take them to court .....if i had the dealer do the job the cost $1150.00 in one day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Don't take your Mercedes to Star Motors! 11/6/2011

I would give them zero stars if I could. I have several complaints. This is just one of them. I flew to PA to pick up my C43. The place I bought it from told me it had been serviced. It ran flawlessly all the way back to KC. I called Star to see if they could determine if the car had indeed been serviced. They said they could and to bring it in. They kept the car overnight but said everything was good when I picked it up. I paid and took the car home (40 miles.) Once on the highway, the performance of the car was not as it had been. The car now had a hesitation off throttle and not nearly as much acceleration as before. They said to bring it back in. They said my MAP sensor had failed. This happened while the car was in their shop. Nearly $400 and now the car ran like it did when I first took it to them. While in the shop, they rotated my tires and wheels to pad the bill. I only had 200 miles on the brand new set of tires. I told them this car had staggered wheels and you couldn't rotate front to back. They took the charge off my bill. I took it to my tire guy to rotate back. I didn't want these guys to touch my car, again. When I got home, I noticed black smudges on both corners of my front bumper. took a lot of rubbing to get it off. A few weeks later the car started running bad again. This time I took it to another shop. They told my MAP sensor was bad. They fixed it and the car has been great ever since. I don't know what Star did to my car but I wasted a lot of time and money. FAILURE TO PROVIDE CHARGED SERVICES and MIS-REPRESENTATION 1/27/2011

BEWARE..I AM FILING A COMPLAINT WITH THE BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU case # 99268377. I brought my car 2006 SLK to Star Motors because my gear harder to ship than normal. The service manager promised that he would hook up my car to a diagnostic machine to find out exactly what's wrong with my car and it will cost me $95. The next day when I called, he told me my car needed a brake fluid pressure sensor and it will cost me $329.70 taxes included and it will be ready on Tuesday around 12pm. I said:? Ok, go a head to fix it. The next day he told me that he was mistaken and my car needs to replace the Master cylinder brake booster which will cost $1,086.03 plus tax. I told him that I did not want the repairs and I wanted my car back. He said I have to pay for the use of the ?diagnostic machine? of $106.96. I had no choice but to pay for it and I drove straight to Mercedes Benz dealer. The Mercedes Benz service advisor told me that there was nothing wrong with my car, because the weather is colder in Kansas City than in Houston, where I used to live and I need to warm up my car before I use it. I drove my car in the past 2 days and it works like normal. My complaint is that Star Motor did not perform the service that they charged me or were incompetent and misdiagnosed my car. If I had listened to them and paid for the replacement of the Master Cylinder it would cost me over $1,000 for something that I did not need. In either case, I did not receive the services that I had to pay for!! I am not the only person that received poor service that borders on fraud. Please read all the reviews from Google providing comments from other dissatisfied customers of Star Motors. Everyone rated them ONE STAR ( out of five ). It is my hope that BBB will take the appropriate action with Star Motors so others will not have to go through a similar situation wasting their time and money. more

Stay away! You will get ripped off! 12/15/2010

I took my 2007 Mercedes CLS 550 in for a transmission fluid change. They quoted me $300. I waited 3 hours for the work and then was presented with a bill for $400. more
