Stanley Ruth

After using Stanley Ruth for over 40 years we heard there had been a change in ownership. This shows, because they used to be great. They have doubled their prices yet provide nothing above what the other companies do in terms of service and warranty (despite their claims). They charged $236 to simply take the units, yet couldn't provide me a quote at the time. When the quote finally came days later after me calling them, they were charging over $700 per unit to fix, and over $900 for each new unit. The new unit quote was also for an older, discontinued model (which they said was a typo). Mind you, the new model retailed at $489, not even close to warranting $900. They were rude when I stated I didn't want to pay double what other companies charge, and the whole process made me feel taken advantage of. They also refused to return my unfixed units to me and I've now had to file a police report. I would caution anyone on using them. more

I had a Heating/AC unit installed in 2007. This year there has been a tremondous leak of cold air coming in.\r They charged me $ 200+ to come and put a piece of cardboard to solve the problem. \r \r In summer I have to call them up again and have them pull the cardboard out for another $ 200+.\r What a ripoff. They did not insulate the unit properly and I think they are not qualified to do the job.\r \r I found this out only after I contacted them Pros: Good at collecting payments up front Cons: A rip off more

They left me high and dry with no help - even though I waited over a weeek to get an appointment. They canceled at the last minute and left me with no help even after I rearranged my whole schedule for them! I called to confirm and they said they were coming - then called 4 hours later and canceled on me. Cons: Didn't show for appointment more
