My husband and I have only lived in Oregon a short time, when our broker informed us about Standard TV and Appliance. We bought a bank foreclosed home with no appliances, so we were in desperate need of a lot of things and looking to find a good deal with good service.
Initially, when i called the store, i spoke to salesman, Matt F., and he was very helpful even though they did not have quite the brand/model i was looking for. Matt went so far as to even do some research on the internet, over the phone with me, to help accommodate me. Now THAT is serious customer service, and definitely going above and beyond!
After speaking with Matt in depth about why and what he recommended, my husband and I decided to check out the store. I had truly intended on purchasing appliances at Sears or another store name i was familiar with. However, due to the superior customer service i received, OVER THE PHONE, i decided to go to Standard TV & Appliance to meet Matt and see if he could help us with all our needs.
My husband and i met Matt for the first time on the 4th of July weekend, knowing there would be great sales. Matt was very polite, not the pushy salesman type, and already had a list of things to show us, based on our phone conversation, and the details as to what types/features of appliances we were looking for. Matt walked us through everything and helped us navigate through a list of major appliances to be purchased, which usually is a nightmare of shopping. However, Matt made this process easy for us and gave us honest opinions about brand appliances and their features. He also DID NOT try to sell us the most expensive items, but rather items that fit our needs and wants.
By the time we left, we had purchased a washer, dryer, refrigerator, and a Bose sound system. A few weeks later, we went back to purchase a dishwasher, and soon after that, we went back to purchase 2 beds! All of this since July 2011!
This store is in a decent and easy accessible location, has a nice, clean, and well laid-out showroom, clean bathrooms, and you are not ""attacked"" by salesmen when you walk in the door, but always greeted politely. I felt as though Matt really respected us as customers, was very honest and genuine, and again, DID NOT pressure us or rush us either. He took all the time we needed, and made us feel like we were important customers, which has us coming back time and time again.
Also, this store often has cookies or other goodies to offer their customers, and on the July 4th weekend, we enjoyed hot dogs and chocolate covered strawberries!
In conclusion, the customer service, products, and prices are PHENOMENAL! The ONLY reason i did not give 5 stars is due to the delivery/customer service department. There were some issues in that area, and they did get resolved, but there were more than a few issues that happened, more than once, so I can't give 5 stars due to this department--and Matt also made sure these issues were resolved and even called us to make sure we were satisfied.
But no one is perfect, right? However, this store comes pretty darn close! It was all because of one employee, Matt F., and my phone call with him that made me want to go to this store and no where else. With that said, THIS EMPLOYEE, MATT F., IS A KEEPER AND SHOULD BE GIVEN A RAISE--NOT JUST A BONUS, BUT A RAISE--and i am only one of the customers, who is proof of that!
Also, i just went into this store yesterday to buy my husband a Blu-Ray/DVD player for Christmas and of course, i went to see my favorite employee--Matt F. Thanks Matt! I hope this store recognizes what a valuable employee you are, AND how you impact your customers, which keeps them coming back and doing business with Standard TV & Appliance!
