Staff of Life--yes I like shopping there 4/16/2006

Alex and I discovered the Staff of Life when we were searching for alternatives to going to Safeway during the terrible negotiation problems a few years back. While they don't have all the staples that we were used to (read processed food), we made out pretty well. And we certainly ate a lot healthier. Although, I'm not sure the next time I will buy tofurkey, I am pretty stuck on the Chik Patties, and Amy's Pizzas. The prices are a bit higher, but that is to be expected. more

Staff of Life grocery store in Santa Cruz has a huge and awesome selection of teas, plenty of organic and conventional produce, a bulk foods area, a large collection of kitchen stuff (like potholders and gadgets), helpful staff, awesome fresh nutritious bread, and a very down-to-earth atmosphere for comfortable shopping. There’s an annex for health and beauty products that has a huge selection of supplements as well as gift items like zafus and hemp bags. This is a true hippie grocery store, just like you’d expect from Santa Cruz, and I love it. Free parking. more
