LOVE LOVE LOVE ANNA HODGSON at stacy monroes, she is the best! i love how she cuts my hair, love the color, she gives you tips on making hair be healthier , products you can use that are actually afforddable, GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE,she makes my hair look so GORGEOUS, OUTSTANDING, FABULOUS FULL OF BODY & SO ELEGANT, SASSY I LOVE IT! she gives exactly what you want or recommneds what will look hot : ) she is such a sweetheart. I have had my hair done many places, & there is no way i am ever leaving Anna, i am sticking with her til i get old. I highly recommend her, she does a great job, & BEST part is i get compliments on my hair all the time & your out of there in LESS than 2 hrs...yeyyyyy! Anna is the best, i TOTALLY TOTALLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND HER & NO ONE ELSE...TRUST ME SHE IS PERFECT!! more

Anna cuts and styles my hair and she does a great job!! She listens to what I want and then actually does it! She will offer suggestions and her opinion but doesn't force it on you even if you decide on something different. And she is usually right! Love love love this place! I have been coming here for years and I always leave happy. I love the way my hair feels and looks after Anna cuts it. It seems like she is always up to date with the newest trends and gets constant education. The last time Anna cut my hair she used multipy scissors at one time! My hair always looks and feels great! I havent had my hair cut in years atleast not styled,kinda scarey,,really..I looked up Hair Salons and decided on Stacey Monroes,on Redwood in Castro Valley..Tara had good reviews so i decided on her..There was a few bad reviews but it only had to do with the way they were so called under dressed,i dont care how they dress,just how they cut hair..Tara was nice clean not under dressed..I didnt even know what to do to my hair,just knew i wanted it shorter and styled..I left very happy.She is great!!!!The Salon as a whole was professional and clean and it was not like a H**ters at all,whoever said that is lying...Great place to go and i highly recommend it.I will definately be back and next time i get my daughters hair done im taking her there too..I like the style of the hair stylist and again they were not in anyway underdressed or what someone called H**ters looking.Try it youll love them...Thanks Tara*****Kat Pros: I only had my hair done,but id go there for more if i had had more time more

Trashy!!! 10/23/2007

Omg!! What a trashy place. i cant belive some of the things i saw those girls wearing. I brought my eleven year old daughter in there and felt like i should cover her eyes!!! I thought i was in a gentlemens club not a salon. And i heard some of the most foul things coming out of those young ladies mouthes. Mothers definitley do not bring your daughters, its definitly not a family friendly evironment. I will never return. more

I absolutly love my hair! 7/21/2007

I've always had trouble finding a stylist who can cut my curly hair. My appointment was with Tara and she was very helpful finding me a style that i can do myself. She also gave me some sutle highlights that complimented the cut very well. I cant tell you how much i love my hair and I've been telling all my friends! She did an amazing job. I had the best experience at stacy monroes in castro valley. i was so scared of turining my long brown hair into a blonde bob. but Tara reasurred me and made me beautiful in no time. i will definitley be back. i love my hair. thanks Tara!!! more

I enjoy seeing my hair dresser Monica she listens to what i want,and if im not sure what i want,shes great at recommending .I always come out of there happy,she always puts my needs a priority.something i new nothing about.my husband agrees.monica is great with color &highlites and gave me a great sassy haircut. more

Can't go wrong 1/10/2007

I'm a creature of habit and never do anything creative with my hair. I searched all salons in the east bay and read many reviews. I finally decided to go to Stacy Monroe's since I'm located nearby and read many positive reviews on Anna...so I made an appointment. She was great... shared some opinions and insight on what would look great. I chopped off 10"" of mane off my head and she did some highlights! Everyone just adored it...maybe even more than I. Love my hair 10/14/2006

Went to the salon after a friend told me about Anna and I was more than pleased. No one ever suggested creative highlights for me. Always the same, either highlights or lowlights same colors which varied a little each time but I was so tired of that. I came in and Anna suggested a bright red color and with a very different type of technique . I actually looked different when I left the salon this time, not like everyone else. She is very unique ! best of the east bay 2/10/2006

everything about the place was great, from getting my hair washed all the way to the blow dry. I didnt want to stop there, they also have manicures pedicures facials massage etc... The front desk was very nice not like some of the other snobby salons out there. Kathy, the front desk lady was great, I felt like everyone in there was like family, well at least thats how they treated everyone that walked in the door. I booked a haircut with Anna because of the reviews I've seen here on her and they were all so right. She did a wonderful job, my hair still looks good after I washed it and tried to style it myself. I think I found myself a new hairstylist. Pros: friendly, affordably, eastbay more

I came in because one of my friends recommended this place and she was right, they did a great job! I had my hair colored and cut and I loved it! They showed me step by step how to replicate the same look and told me what kind of products that would be good for my type of hair.Nice upscale salon, friendly people. Pros: on time more

Great salon spa 1/15/2006

Anything you want to make yourself feel fantastic is here. They have all the services from hair, skin, nails everything. The prices are very reasonable and they have lots of different stylist to cater to what you are looking for. Everyone is very nice and it has great atmosphere. Theres alway a fresh pot of coffee in the morning too. Best of all its right here in Hayward/ Castro valley. I dont need to drive a distance to get a good haircut and style. I drive from sacramento to see Anna 1/2/2006

Anna has cut my hair for 2 years now. I drove to San Jose ,where she was at before to see her from my home in Sacramento. Now she is in Castro valley. She is worth the hour and a half drive. My hair never looked as good as it does now. Her precision cutting skills are wonderful, she makes sure everything is exactly right, she is a perfectionist with what she does and Im staying with her. I have very thick curly hair and nobody has ever cut it like her. She flat ironed my hair to make it straight then cut it dry, it was perfect. Noone has ever cut my curly hair straight and dry . It worked and that was the best haircut I ever got. You should also see the way she texturizes hair she is amazing! Pros: good price more

I never thought that castro valley would have such an upscale salon. Beautiful and with a full service spa. I had my haircut by Anna and Im never going anywhere else. She is Vidal Sassoon trained from San Francisco and I dont have to drive to the city now to get professional cut. She listens and did exactly what I asked for. I really recommend her.
