St Helena Auto Repair

I have been living in Calistoga for about 7 months now and heard about this place as word of mouth from a gear-headed friend of mine. I brought my used foreign car in with a few things I noticed were wrong with it. Not only did Victor find out and fix the problems I had (leaky gaskets and oil pressure issues) he would then show me exactly what he did before he handed my car back to me. Very refreshing to see what was done! Beyond that, the service was quick and friendly. So friendly, in fact, that since we were chatting about a road trip I was planning in the near future Victor looked over my car and found an old belt that needed replacing and showed me where my water pump was leaking some coolant, something that could have ruined my engine during the road trip if gone unchecked. He promptly fixed both of those issues within 2 days of my calling, and all of these fixes were reasonably priced! We got stranded last weekend on our way to Calistoga to celebrate our wedding anniversary and Auto-Metric St. Helena Auto Repair shop not only fixed the problem for us the same day they saved us $$.\r \r The same repair (replacing the coil) would have cost us more money had my regular mechanice back home in Santa Cruz done the work. I know because I verified the pricing with him (part and approx. labor time) prior to having the work done by Autometric.\r \r Victor and Ricardo were really great, professional and considerate. They worked hard to get us the part we needed the same day. No easy feat as our vehicle's (1997 Volkswagen Eurovan Camper) parts aren't usually in stock. Not only did they find the part we needed, they passed their discount on to us. \r \r more
