Best

Had the absolutely awesome Nitro Smoked Porter and followed up with the Captain Bastard Oatmeal Stout that was okay, but didn't live up to the porter. For dinner I had the Squa...

Worst

After being ignored by the hostess for 5 minutes, we sat down to dinner. I ordered the bourbon burger, but was disappointed with the quality- a processed, pre-made and frozen pat...

Great Beer 4/11/2005

I've never eaten at Squatters, but the beer is fantastic. So many choices and all very high quality. This is a great place to go after a hard day of skiing, sit by the fire and drink a great beer of your choice. The service is very good as well, although it can get a bit uncrowded at times. Pros: Beer, Service Cons: Crowds more

Nice food, nice beer. 8/16/2004

I think Squatters beer (lager) is one of the best in Utah, if not a best one. I would recommend to try their chiken wings, and Jambalaya. Sometimes you'd have to wait in the line for 30 minutes to get seated, alas. Pros: Inexpensive, Beer, Food more

Gets the Job Done 4/18/2004

I use to come here only when I had friends from out of state just so I could show them that we actually have brew pubs in Utah. But interestingly enough, over the years the food's gotten much better and the menu has expanded. I use to frequent Redrock for better food, but that is clearly not the case now. The Buffalo Burger is awesome, as are the fish tacos. There are a plethora of superb specials and there is a beer for just about every beer lover's palette. In a phrase, I am very impressed with the improvements made at Squatter's. Pros: creative dishes, darker beers Cons: , parking is iffy more

Home Away From Home 7/22/2003

I discovered Squatters while on a business trip in the middle of winter. It's a beautiful building and it's cozy. The beer was yummy; I took a six pack home to my husband and he liked it. Food was good. It's a good place to after work to relax for a drink and have some fun. Pros: Good Beer, Great Ambience, Fun Fun Fun Cons: 1,000 Miles From Home more

Peter's my mate 6/4/2003

Squatter's is my pub away from home. Peter Cole is a great operator and truly genuine mate. How could anyone not like this place? The beer, the food, the company. Pros: Peter, good beer, good food more

Great Place - OK Beer 3/13/2003

First thing you'll notice is that Squatters is a beautiful place. One of the historic buildings of downtown Salt Lake City. It's also within walking distance of a few other bars and a brewery. Actually eating in the restaurant you'll be suprised how casual the place really is. Food is basic. Burgers are good and basic... the rest isn't all that. Beers are good but very limited. English style mostly. Lots of different beers but not much different really. Not bad. Could be better. Pros: Downtown, Great space Cons: Food is so-so, Similar Beers more

What no night-life? 10/4/2002

Went for late night dining on a Friday and was disappointed with the offerings, plus the waiter missed 1/2 the order. Food was OK, but if you don't drink, you might want to look elsewhere. Pros: TV with sports Cons: server more

Great beer, good food 5/20/2002

The casual atmosphere doesn't fit much more than a business lunch or a casual dinner with a couple of friends, but the beer is great. Try the Full Suspension. Pros: great beer Cons: mellow atmosphere more

Casual downtown dining 5/14/2002

Squatters is a great place for a sit-down lunch or a casual evening meal. Food tends to be hit-and-miss. Stick to burgers or sandwiches, and they'll usually satisfy. The beer selection is great and the atmosphere is lively and fun. Nice patio in the summertime and a warm, inviting fireplace in the winter. Pros: Nice atmosphere, Great beer Cons: Hit-or-miss food more
