Best

What I like most about these cupcakes is the buttery flavor of the moist cake, and of course the generous slathering of frosting. \r \r They are not inexpensive by any means, ...

Worst

I gotta say, these cupcakes are not special! at $3 and up, they are ALL about the hype. They're good, sure, but so are the red velvet cupcakes from Ralph's. Not worth a long line ...

Sooooo Soooo Gooood! 6/12/2008

OMG! These are the best cupcakes....ever! If you have a sweet tooth this is the place for you, the cupcakes are like little cakes, perfect for two...but I after one bite I doubt there will be much sharing. I highly recommend the red velvet and dark chocolate cupcakes. My dogs liked the cupcakes for dogs too! The line is usally long so it's best to order them online and then just go straight to the counter to pick them up..Enjoy! Pros: quick service, cute takeout boxes Cons: pricey, limited outdoor seating, more

Officially Obsessed!!!!! 6/2/2008

I have been here multiple times to both the Newport and Beverly Hills locations and have loved every experience!!! I LOVE these cupcakes! The Red Velvet is absolutely to die for! The cupcakes are so moist and flavorful and the rosting is probably the best I have ever had! They are also continually baking throughout the day so you are likely to get fresh baked cupcakes when you walk in. Their other flavors are great as well, the only I have been a little disappointed with is the peanut butter chip. The biggest drawback is the lines which are usually only really long on friday-Sunday. Pros: Best Cupcakes Ever, good store ethic, fresh baked throughout day Cons: Long Lines on Weekends more

Absolutely Disgusting 5/31/2008

Undercooked and overrated. I was so excited to try the famous Sprinkles, and it turned out to be disgusting! The frosting is average and the cake portion tastes like pure flour- I didn't even eat the whole thing. Do not waste your time or money. Anybody who actually bakes will be severely disappointed. more

lousy cupcakes 5/25/2008

The cake portion tastes terrible!! Such a waste of time and money. Kara's cupcakes in San Francisco are much better. more

RED VELVET!!! 5/22/2008

Sprinkles has the BEST red velvet cupcakes in town!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I've tried red velvet cupcakes at many other bakeries in and around L.A. and haven't found ones as good as these. I'm also a fan of their pumpkin cupcakes. I don't like their normal vanilla or chocolate cake, I actually think it tastes like chalk, but the red velvet cupcakes are what I go for, and they are worth the 5 star rating! Pros: Red velvet cupcakes, location, cute place Cons: Always a line, pricey more

Whats Not To Like? 5/21/2008

The BEST CUPCAKES EVER!\r Since sprinkles i've tried cupcakes pretty much where I see them even the places that say that they have very good cupcakes.\r Nope.....other places dont\r sprinkles is number one in cupcakes! more

overrated!!!!!!! 5/20/2008

it's all hype. please go try and compare to other bakeries. oprah is obviously God because anything she endorses goes through the roof in popularity! my favorite cupcake (and have pretty much tried them all in l.a.) is down in manhattan beach at a landmark establishment called becker's bakery. AWESOME cupcakes (cakes, cookies and sandwiches too) if the line is too long you can always stare at the ocean. Pros: fun to people watch (while in line for an hour) Cons: fun to people watch (while in line for an hour) more

What's the buzz all about? And non service animals in a food establishment GROSS!!!!!!!!! 5/18/2008

*Not good- and at these prices they should be to die for and they just are not. \r *expensive\r *foodies will not think they are that great- or anyone with good food experience. \r *Yuk there was a non service dog in the store??Gross and illegal! Don't get me wrong I love animals but not anywhere near a public food establishment. \r *Scottsdale location was poorly designed. Who was the architect? Staff yelled at us to close the door when you could not because people were stuck coming in and out. What am I a customer of a kindergarten kid?\r *Very environmentally unfriendly place. Boxes and huge shopping bags for cupcakes? Come on. The green in me was cringing! Try Fairytale brownies instead. \r The good? \r *The smell was great to take in while you wait 30 minutes for an overprices cupcake.\r *The cream cheese cocconut one is good. The only one we thought was. Not the best, but better than average. Chocolate banana one is actually gross!Skip that one. That one should have cream cheese frosting instead.Strawberry is for the kids. It is sickenly sweet( Never thought I would say that in life, but it is gross!) Sorry I wanted to like it .For a place that is only selling one thing it should be the best and it is not. Pros: smell, coconut cream cheese cupcake, people in line were nice and patient with kids. Cons: Dog in store, yuk! Banana chocolate cupcake was gross, price , architect of store is poorly designed, more

Love the cupcakes 5/6/2008

Having a job in the entertainment industry, I use Sprinkles for a lot of my clients. My clients love the cupcakes. No one ever turns them down. Service, while not always the quickest due to the line, is always pleasant. Very easygoing with preorders and if you preorder, you can skip the line altogether. Pros: PreOrders, Service, Special Requests Cons: Long line, Parking more

Not worth it! 4/22/2008

Just because it is expensive and in Beverly Hills does not mean it is good. This place is way overrated!! I was expecting a gourmet cupcake, but what I ate was a sub par cupcake. I wonder if anyone who thinks this place is great has ever eaten a homemade cupcake? \r \r I ordered the lemon and the mocha cupcake. The lemon cupcake only had a hint of lemon in the frosting. The mocha was nothing special. \r \r Don't go if you bake yourself, are a real foodie or looking for a gourmet cupcake. \r \r I am a independent consumer and I do not work in the food business. So my opinion is not skewed. Only skewed by my own years of baking in my home and eating wonderful deserts around the US and the world.\r \r The positive of the whole experience is that I did not have to wait in line and that it confirms that just because you have money does not mean you have taste.\r more

Best Cupcake on Earth 3/26/2008

The lines can be very long down the sidewalks of Beverly Hills, but it is worth it. $3.25 a cupcake is harsh but I pay it gladly. I get the dark chocolate, my wife gets the red velvet (california style red velvet, not traditional southern). Call ahead for a dozen or more and cut the line anytime of day. They also offer shots of frosting for the truly decadent. Pros: Cupcakes Cons: Parking is always a pain in Beverly Hills more

Big Disappointment!!! 3/22/2008

We came all the way from Egypt! I heard about Sprinkles and heard it was the best place to go! We waited a long line and standed freezing in the cold street, thinking oh this is worth it!! and there is a sign on the door that says ""Please keep the door closed to keep our cupcakes fresh!!!"" Whatever! Snobby staff!! It's like thay are selling diamonds! We got Vanilla & peppermint(VERY dry, clumpy, unfluffy, with commercial frosting!) we couldn't even finish it!!!! What a waste of Money!!! Double chocolate was edible, but still not something I could make at home with nice chocolate!!! I'm Very DISAPPOINTED!!!! more

BEST CUPCAKES EVER! 3/10/2008

I heard about Sprinkles from Daily candy - the best cupcakes I have ever tried. And I am a cupcake nut and have tried every cupcake shop in the Los Angeles area. There is a certain richness involved with their cupcakes, yes they are a little pricey for a cupcake but totally worth it. Pros: best more

Yummy, but long wait 3/9/2008

Delicious Red Velvet cupcakes! Worth trying, but only if you have an hour to wait on line. Maybe weekday hours are better? There are better cupcakes out there, that are more moist, less expensive and without the wait (try buttercake). Cons: Long lines more

Too dry to try! 3/2/2008

Don't bother... if you do any baking yourself (and I do), you will be seriously disappointed. I never write reviews, but felt strongly enough about the experience that I wanted to share with others. The cupcakes were dry and I've had better frosting out of a tub from the supermarket. more

Love it! 2/29/2008

I just moved to L.A. from the Bay Area and I couldn't wait to try Sprinkles. I must say that I was a bit skeptical going in because of all the hype surrounding the cupcakes but I was pleasantly surprised. The cupcakes are MIND BLOWING. They are rich in taste and flavor. The red velvet is to die for as is the vanilla. This place is definitely worth the long wait in line. Sprinkles rocks! more

BEST CUPCAKES EVER, GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE AND TASTY/ TRENDY AT AN AFFORDABLE PRICE 2/21/2008

The biggest negative when it comes to Sprinkles is the wait. But here's a secret of mine that only locals know: Call in a to go order in advance. I always do that and it's funny because I just went this weekend and as I breezed pass the line a lady yelled ""THERE'S A LINE!"" Duh. But your like a VIP when you call it in because there is no wait and all you have to do is walk in and tell the FRIENDLY (yes I said friendly) SALES STAFF YOUR NAME and bada boom bada bing your out of there with a smile and some delicious cupcakes that everyone else waits 45 minutes in line for! Pros: To Go orders, Friendly sales staff, Red Velvet cupcakes Cons: Jealous people who have to wait in line, kind of small space( however it is worth it) more

tasty cream cheese frosting 1/4/2008

I?ve fancied visiting this place for months. Lately it?s been getting a lot of press on TV and Los Angeles seems to have gone into cupcake frenzy! After standing in line on the streets of Beverly Hills for thirty to forty five minutes, I finally stepped into the tiny shop and saw row upon row of the most delectable looking cupcakes. They have over 20 enticing flavors and bake with the finest of ingredients including Belgian chocolate and the most expensive vanilla extract in the world! Right now I?m eating my heavenly red velvet cupcake with a tall glass of cold milk and my day couldn't had ended any better. Pros: cute wooden forks and spoons, tasteful decor, beautiful presentation, tasty, parking near by Cons: the space is too small, the lines are too long, not enough product left more

Discusting.... 1/3/2008

This was a horible experience. I am from out of town and everyone was braging about Sprinkles, so I was hoping for a nice piece of food. I go there exited about trying this cupcake. The line took 45 minuets. Then I ordered the cupcake and it tasted more like cupcrap. It was not cooked all the way and it was like five dollars for one uncooked darn stupid cupcake. The service was not nice and kind, they were dreading to be there. I DO NOT RECOMEND THIS AT ALL! It is a wast of time! Cons: Blahhh. ... more

Not the best, but you have to try at least once 11/18/2007

Like all those people you see lined up along the sidewalk every Saturday morning, I too succumbed to all the hoopla about this little brown box of a cupcake shop. Since my first visit, I've been back a few times even though I find the cupcake frosting to be WAY TOO SWEET and the red velvet dry. Really, it's more about the experience -- it's one of those things you have to try at least once. Pros: They serve Revolution tea (peppermint is best) and also have ""pupcakes"" for dogs Cons: Too sweet; sometimes can be dry more
