Local Greats 4/6/2006

Brian Kershisnik, James Christensen, Roydan Card, Joseph Aleman, Cassandra Barney---the Springville Art Museum is where you'll catch a glimpse of local and regional greats. While there are some more permanent exhibits, you'll want to check out the current exhibits, which range from student artwork and more professional juried shows to quilt shows and spiritual artwork. The old Spanish style building has a lot of twists and turns which hide more and more artwork around each corner. This place has so much local flavor to offer that it is a must for artists and casual visitors alike. There is no entrance fee, which makes this museum even more amazing. Prepare to lose yourself and be surprised. more

Dumpy Run Down Museum 8/18/2005

This museum is hardly what one would call an art museum. The location is old looking and not very impressive nor is it very big. The art is rather strange and eccentric although the collection is admirable considering the size of the establishment. It really isn't worth the trip down from far away to visit the museum. If you're just passing by Springville however, it doesn't hurt to stop by and take a look. more

Great Art Museum 8/17/2005

This is a great art museum in Springville. They have lots of art on display of all types. I visited here for an assignment for an art history class, and was very impressed. There is a great section of local art by local artists, as well as art from all over. The best part about this museum is that it is completely free. You can't beat that. more

No Masters, but Good Anyway 8/16/2005

The Springville MOA has a decent collection of Utah artists along with works by some other artists. They have paintings, photographs, and some sculptures. Though close to Provo, it is away from all things BYU, which is kind of nice sometimes. It is also a great place for wedding receptions. There is no admission fee to the museum making it a cheap date! more
