What not to wear 7/10/2009

Don't wear black, unless you are lent free. Also, make sure your nails are freshly painted or clean of polish... All your flaws will show up under the black light. Pros: Kick back place Cons: Black Lights, But they look cool more

I was there last Saturday night around 10pm and there was less than 10 people in there. They didn't seem to have a dress code. There was lots of seating and some arcade games. This place was hard to find since there are NO signs, you just go to the back of the indian restauarant and go under and you see a blue and red light by the door and thats it! I would come here again if I had a group of people. Pros: not crowded at all Cons: hard to find at first, they were playing old music more

Hipster Creek at its best and only! 11/20/2006

Tricky to find and therefore less busy than many Creek bars downtown. Love the bouncers - attitude to the max! The art is always changing, the bartenders as always nice and attractive. Wear your opera tux or your Chuck's and t-shirt, all are a good fit for Spoontonic. If you are hungry beforehand, visit the Indian rest. above! more

Wow - friends told me this place was a refreshing change from the Abercrombie Twenty Something Bar Scene in the WC.... So my girlfriend & I went to check it out before dinner on a Fri nite..... 9:30. Late dinner. Anyway, walk in & immediately smell the cheese. 2 male forty somethings drinkn their Kahlua & Creams at the bar & a late 30 sumthin female playing what looks to be video poker, yet at quick glance revealed she was removing the draws off of a computerized Paris Hilton. Sounds sweet. But, the topper ---- The very nice Asian Bartender asked how our nights were going & then asked me to leave because I didn't have a collar on. Glad we didn't spend our $40 there. Must've been a collar-less nite. Wow the WC is where it's at - 4 get Sunset. Underground bars are all the buzz in the WC. What a pompous waste this place is.............. Yes. You counted correctly, there were 3 people in the bar on a Friday nite at 9:30 pm. more

Great places, with great faces! 9/6/2006

I was introduced to this bar by a veteran of Spoons ( <3 Caitlin) , and thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere! The bartender was great, the people were chill, and the photo booth is a great addition and way to increase fun times. I think we got in that booth quite a few times that night. The OtterPOP shot, something of a house favorite, tastes exactly as it sounds. All the giggles and chats throughout the bar, give you that found the ""right place"" kind of feeling. A sense of accomplishment to those who can find the bar at ease! But once you have, you can finally relax cause you wont be leaving anytime soon! :) ~Ashley Pros: Everything Cons: Nothing more

Great Bar 9/3/2006

People-The one thing I admire about urban bars (SF & Oakland) is that diversity is everywhere. Of course there are bars where one will find just one group, one stereotype and that's okay, because that is what they market to. Spoontonic doesn't market to specific stereotypes, which is one of the main reasons why it is the ONLY bar, I will go to in Walnut Creek. I like a diverse crowd. Thursday Nights, happy hour and good people. Of-course, it does get really busy later in the night. I like the fact that I can meet new people from different age groups. Pros: Great People, Nice Atmosphere Cons: Happy Hour is only on Thursday's and Friday's more

this bar is great simply because it is not YET teeming with mortgage brokers and banker, until it does this will be a great bar for drinks. The lighting is a little on the darkside but hey...small price to pay. Friendly staff, good drinks & the nicest smelling men's bathroom I have ever been in... Pros: chill, good bartenders, clean bathrooms Cons: dark, parking can be tough more

This place is the best bar in the creek.... its friendly professional service and loungy atmosphere have made it damn near a second home for me. The regulars are nice, the bar has a great selection, the specialty drinks are delicious, and they have a picture booth!!!!! A++++ Did i mention the bartenders ROCK THE HOUSE!!!! The little bar that could! 4/17/2005

I was reciently invited to Spoontonic Lounge in Walnut Creek and had a great time.This well hidden lounge is a cross between a high-end martini bar and a neighborhood pub.The staff is very sharp and seem to handle the Saturday night crowd with ease.One bartender in paticular,Lauren must have been a juggler before taking on this job,she was fun to watch,great timing and a great smile! By the time I left the lounge,I knew everyone on staff by name and they were all very freindly (no ""Big City"" attitude from this staff)This place is weel worth the trip! -E.McGee more

Spoontonic Lounge has been one of my regular hangouts since the place opened a few years back. The bar itself is beautiful, the ENTIRE staff has ALWAYS been professional and polite. Great place to hang out, throw a party, or meet up with old friends. The owner and the staff are all great people and will only ask you to leave if you deserve to be asked to leave. Keep a respectful attitude as a customer, and you will receive respect in return. I stand my ground when I say this is by far the best bar to hang out at in CoCo County... great style, great drinks, and always great service. more

I've got to say that I speak for alot of friends and acquaintances when I say that Spoontonic is on a level far above all the other bars I've found in the area. I absolutley love this place - the staff, the people, the atmosphere, the music, just the overall vibe and aesthetic of it is superb. Since my first round, the bartenders and staff have always been very friendly, social, efficient and professional. One bartender in particular, Lauren, makes you feel right at home with her sparkling and gracious personality - she greets you with a friendly smile and hello then promptly makes you the tasty drink of your choice. Cheers, Lauren! Spoontonic definitely has alot to offer and is well worth checking out. Pros: Fantastic Staff, Great Scene, Good Music Cons: Limited Space more

Lauren is the best bartender in the WC 4/17/2005

In rebute to a comment I just read regarding Lauren and her being anything remotely close to a sub standard bartender I have to strongly disagree! Sense the first time I went to Spoontonic's Lauren has gone above and beyond what she is required to do to make every visit there a blast. She doesn't play favorites and ignore you all night (even if it's your first time there), she always makes great drinks (opposed to iced down weak drinks), and go's out of her way to make everbody as comfortable as possible. Spoontonic's is a great place with a great staff and great people! P.S. If anybody thinks Lauren isn't the best bartender in the WC, I double dare you to try and work a Saturday night there, with 20 people surrounding the bar barking drink orders at you..... and you keeping a smile on your face! Best Bar EVER!!!! 4/16/2005

Spoontonic is elegant, yet laid back... It has that feel that you just dress way up, or just go out after work and still feel as though you fit in. The atmosphere is amazing, and Jeff (the owner, who introduces himself to everyone) goes out of his way to make sure everyone is comfortable. The bartenders each have a very distinct style, and are very fun to watch and chat with. Lauren and Sonya are my two favorites because as different as they are, their sweet personalities and professionalism match perfectly. Pros: Laren, Sonya, Jukebox Cons: Parking, Hard to find more

Very Friendly Staff... 8/16/2004

Today was my 21st birthday and I couldn't wait to go to Spoontonics! The staff is really nice! Sonia hooked me up w/ a free drink, then she recommended another very good drink! Yum! My friend and I took pictures in the old fashion photo booth and it looks really cute! I will for sure go back to Spoontonics! Can't wait! Chill lounge & art gallery 8/22/2003

I love Spoontonic! Been coming in regularly for about six months now, after discovering that it had finally opened (I heard about it a couple years ago but it hadn't actually opened yet). The owner & staff are awesome, the specialty drinks are innovative, and the crowd is mellow (although it does get busy late on Fridays & Saturdays). In addition, the place serves as a gallery for talented local artists, so there's always something interesting to look at. Spoontonic doesn't have the ""meat market"" vibe, and as a single woman I always feel comfortable showing up by myself. It's a great place to meet a wide variety of people, listen to cool tunes on the jukebox, or just chill out with friends. Make the effort to find it!
