Went into this restaurant for Father's Day. Loved everything I ate. Carmine was my server. Nice Waiter, loved all the dishes that he recommended and loved that we were not rushed, even though the place was pretty busy. I will go back. Good food - friendly atmosphere - and my children loved watching the dessert being made at the table (must say the flambe' was delicious too). more

Disappointing 6/28/2010

After reading the glowing reviews, I was expecting more. The waiter seemed disinterested in serving us and barely cracked a smile. Found out later he never told us of the appetizer specials, just the entrees. Had clams, calamari and salmon and unfortunately they ALL had a slight fishy taste. Baked clams lacked seasoning and the tomato sauce on the calarmari was bland. They toss the Caesar salad at your table, put put on the bottled dressing before they bring it out! Would not go back. Pros: Small, intimate, terrace dining Cons: Food not up to par more

Want Great Italian Food? Try Spolini's 11/23/2009

Been to many Italian Restaurants... The food here is GREAT... the staff is very attentive and they will go out of their way to please you. Everything is made to the order. Your portions can be shared by two or three. Huge Steaks and Chops. You can taste the Good Quality Tomatoes used to made their Sauce. Nice bread. There is a reason they have been in business for over Nineteen Years now. They now have a Private Party Room too. They also have a Restaurant Upstate in Saratoga during Horse Racing Season... you must try this place. Pros: Large Portions, Priced Right, Nice Atmosphere Cons: Wish they were on Long Island too! more

Excellent Italian Food in Queens 11/23/2009

The unique thing about Spolini's is that they will switch up any sauce you want with any pasta... you can even call in advance for something special that you might want. I love that the food is made fresh to the order. The Romano Sauce is very good and the Ravioli with Crab Sauce is wonderful. Now let's talk Chicken. They have the best Chicken Scarp in New York. You can order this dish with or without sausage, potatoes, peppers or even with a red sauce - they call it Chicken Chinese. And last let me mention that the Veal Chops are huge, tender and juicy.... wow. Everything is family style... so three can share a dish... so don't be afraid of the prices. I love this restaurant... and highly recommend it. Pros: Large Portions, Fresh, Delicious Cons: Non that I can think of more

hmm 4/30/2009

the place is nice, food delicious, service excellent, but very noise place, in special the bar area, the bartender was drunk and speak loudly and at the and few guys start to smoke cigarettes(sucks) and this think happening few times...thank good now the terrace is opened... so if you want some quiet, don't go there.... Pros: good place...but??? more

Best Food in NY 10/25/2007

A hidden little secret in Kew Gardens.... Spolini's has delicious, inexpensive italian cuisine. All dishes are made fresh to the order. They also serve wonderful breads... Fresh tasting wonderful flavored pasta sauces, especially the Romano Sauce. Great Seafood & outrageous steak. I Give Spolini's Five Stars. Pros: Fresh made to the order Cons: No cons more

Good place! 1/16/2007

Family style place. The fact that there isnt a menu is a little weird. (The menu is on the wall.) However, this is a good thing. It probably means they change their dishes for variety. Simply put get the crab ravioli. It feeds 2. I think its a special. If the server forgets to mention it ASK for it. It is wonderful. The staff is really great and helpful. Good place for a couple or a family. The bar is also well stocked if you need some drinks. Pros: service, value vs portion size, and food Cons: havent had any problems more
