Dr. Ben Spivey of Ocala was awesome!! He spent time with me in the room and didn't want to rush me. He also answered all of my questions about my new dentures. more

Dr. Spivey and his staff were great!!! Another doctor wanted to charge a bunch to just meet me and I left with my same problems. Dr. Spivey had a payment plan that worked with my budget and helped me get a new smile. more

What a terrible terrible dentist and human being. He flat out steals from his patients and commits insurance fraud. We went to see him and he diagnosed my husband with major dental work. We were very trusting and spent over 4k. Well a year later we moved out of state and our new dentist had to completely redo what spivey did and then some because of the poor quality of workmanship. Since spivey we have spent an additional 6k in dental rework and repairs on my husband's mouth. \r There is no re-course with dental insurance, they would not go after him and paid the fraudlent bills. If you have experienced the same thing make sure you report him to the FL Dept of Health for investigation!!!\r more

Over priced. Bad service. I went to another dentist and received a completly different diagnosis. He was rude and acted as if he didn't have the time or patience. Do not ever sign a form allowing Dr. Spivey to get at your credit card without you being there. If he seems to fill teeth in a very short time, go to another dentist. He claimed to fill two teeth under 3 minutes and wrote me a letter with a lot of garbage about the expensive equipment he has. I have had my teeth checked out and no work was done at all. I have a lawyer aware of it. If you pay up front and you have dental insurance, make sure the refund comes to you and make sure you get the prices up front. I was told what I paid is what the cost was but he collected more from my dental insurance which I got back after four months of stress. His office would not submit my paper work to them. He has since sent me a paper showing the prices on which my signature shows but it is written uphill and not on the line. That is the signature that I signed to pay my bill on one of those machines like you see at stores. It is always hard to write straight on one of those.\r \r He still owes me $203.00 which was not covered by my insurance but I don't expect I will ever see that unless he suddenly develops a conscience. During my visits to Dr. Spivey's office, he was rude to his staff as well as he was to me. I had a bridge close to the front of my teeth. The area got infected soon after. When looking at my payment, I noticed that I paid for a build up. Something that was not done. I felt stuck because I had already paid him so I went through with my work. During my visits there, I could hear other patients in the other rooms and I could tell that they were not happy with his work either. I ended up having to go to another dentist to fix his work. My billing was continuously wrong and they charged my insurance company for work he didn't perform, work that he sugguested (two fillings to be exact). I didn't have that work done, but he charged my insurance company for it.\r DO NOT waist your time, money or health. I have the best smile in Ocala because of one man. I am extremely happy!!! It saddens me to see others try and write negative things about Dr. Spivey. All people want to do is complain these days. His work is absolutely amazing. I now have a beautiful smile and it?s all because of him. In life we make choices. I chose to have a beautiful smile designed by Dr. Spivey instead of a new car. He is absolutely the most modern dentist I have known. His office is always clean and he demands perfection. I believe he is an LVI graduate and uses the best materials and products. Also, he takes pictures of everything he does. He provided me his personal cell phone number and email address. I know he does this for other patients because it is printed on his business cards. He is expensive but worth it completely if you want it done right. It seems like the others couldn?t afford the treatment so they complain. I also don?t shop at Wal-Mart so maybe I have different standards. I am only writing this comment because it?s unfair that people just post negative things. I went to all of the dentists that are ?cosmetic? but nothing compared to his services and compassion. If you see someone in town with a really big smile and her name is Sara, ask who my doctor is. I was defrauded by a dentist (DR. BEN SPIVEY) in Ocala, FL. I told him, both verbally, and in writing, that I wanted ALL amalgam fillings in my mouth removed. I made it very clear that I wanted every bit removed, not just covered up. He agreed, and did the first ""quarter"" of my mouth. It was the upper right. Recently, I went to another dentist that removed ALL the amalgam fillings. When he got to that ""quarter"" of my mouth, he discovered that the amalgam was NOT REMOVED. Dr Ben Spivey, the first Dentist, had drilled down about 1mm into a large amalgam filling, then just covered it up with white composite filling. I don't have words to express just how P1SSED OFF I am. Dr Spivey had talked about ""trust"" and other such nonsense. That only added insult to the injury when I discovered how he ripped me off. I'm thankful that I did not pay him to remove all the other fillings, and that I went to another Dentist, because there's no doubt in my mind that he would have ripped me off further!
