Spin Cafe Gelato

Food is good but the service is terrible. They were very rude. I have been there twice and had the same experience both times. The value is also not very good. You can get a better meal for less and with better service somewhere else. more

I haven't had a yummy gluten free burger in years and I was in heaven when I tried the GF Burger at Spin Cafe. They used an Udi's Bun which was wonderful and they had Gf Onion Rings. So yummy! This is my new favorite GF menu. I will definitely be back! more

Everything at the Spin Cafe tastes fresh and artful. Their homemade Blue Cheese dressing is the best I have EVER tasted and will make a Blue Cheese lover out of anybody. I never leave the store without an extra portion to take home - which is also true of their homemade gelato. I highly recommend any of their slow-cooked meats, but need to make special mention of their chicken wings. I used to think of chicken wings as bar food and nothing more - at the Spin Cafe they are a meal that I look forward to. more

My mom and I were up in Midway over Memorial Week-end and had heard great things about Spin Cafe, so we had to try it. We could not have been more thrilled with our meal. Their barbecue pork sandwich was to die for, experiencing the tender meat with the surprise onion ring on top, with a fresh toasted bun. SO GOOD!! Their spin fries were good, too. To top it off, we ordered a Dulce de Leche gelato, which was creamy & DELICIOUS!! We'll be back, for sure!! more

After a long and beautiful bike ride just outside Heber, my husband and I stopped into Spin Cafe, one of our very favorite Utah restaurants. We love the Carolina Pull Pork Sandwich topped with their incredibly yummy mustard slaw. As always it was out of this world! Perfect in every way. Since we had just burned a whole lot of calories biking, we tried, for the first time, the buffalo wings. We were not disappointed. Just the right amount of heat. DO NOT leave without a gelato. The only frustration you will experience at 'Spin' is deciding which flavor to get! You'll be smacking your lips all the way home! We live in Salt Lake and take the scenic drive to Heber as often as possible, just to eat at Spin Cafe. Pros: food, gelato, service Cons: None! more

My husband and I discovered Spin Cafe Gelato while on a five day vacation and ended up eating there four different times! We had the specials several times and were always pleased with the great tastes that the Spin Cafe had created! We had the barbecued brisket, the cowboy steak (twice!), barbecued chicken sandwich and some peach/blackberry cobbler (the best cobbler we have EVER tasted) with a scoop of creme brulee gelato on it. The service was excellent, even when the restaurant was serving a large number of people. Our only complaint is that it is not closer to home! We encourage you to add this restaurant to your list of places to visit in Utah. Pros: The food is well prepared and delicious more

My husband and I are locals here, and eat at Spin Cafe when we want a nice, relaxing meal. The food is excellent - every time we visit. I have NEVER had a bad meal there. Pros: Great atmosphere, even better food! Cons: It's hard to wait for food this good! more

My husband and I have been over a dozen times. We love the spicy wings, the salads, the chicken, pulled pork sandwitches....and the gelato. It's a casual atmosphere, but romantic! Cozy! Pros: Ambience, great food. more

Wonderful experience, service was teriffic. Gelato was ""To Die For"". We travel throughout europe and it was the best this side of Rome. Not the sicky sweet sugar in a cone we usually find. Good Job! Pros: Thumbs Up more

Overall train wreck. A ""slow down to look curiously, hope it never happens to you, forget about it as you drive away"" experience. Our experience with service was just okay. They stayed mostly out of the picture. The food put on the real show of disappointment. I was not impressed at all and the food was waaay over priced for how not good it was. I won't be going back. At first glance this place looks like a great addition to the small town of Heber. After all, unless you ingest beef all day long you will have to escape Heber for some flavor. However, everything changes when they bring the food. Not only is the serice ""fair"" but you are being served by a bunch of teenagers who would rather be texting their friends than serve the customer, but the food was made for homeless dogs! I would never recommend this place to anyone. By the way, I frequently travel to Italy and Gellato taste nothing like that. more

I work in Heber and have eaten at Spin Cafe several times and have been relatively impressed with the food. The service, on the other hand, has been far less impressive. Today was no exception! I have my family in town all the way from Alabama, their first visit to Utah in fact. I'm showing them the quaint, town of Heber and after riding the Heber Creeper decide to stop into Spin Cafe for a little gelato. Having children with us, and children being children, they'd much prefer a milkshake from a place with a train out front (Dairy Keen of course). So, we go through the drive through at Dairy Keen (which I HIGHLY recommend) and then going back to our condo in Park City, stop at Spin Cafe. I had told my family how impressed I had been with the food and was dying to try the gelato. We walk in and the girl at the counter was very friendly and told us to take a table to the right. My family took the three kids, who were very calm and not disruptive at all, to the table while my sister and I order gelato. I order a large gelato, $5.00, and sit down to eat. Halfway through the gelato a lady walks over, I suppose the manager, and says, ""I hate to say this, but it is rude to bring food in from another restaurant and not order food.........I'm going to have to ask you to leave."" I was completely and utterly stunned. First of all, we had been told to sit down by a waitress. Secondly, we had only been sitting down for 10 minutes, I'm eating my gelato and my sister is looking at the dinner menu. The children were behaving wonderfully and there were only three other people in the restaurant at the time. We leave, but not without making our point that we have NEVER been treated so rudely and I will never give my business to them again OR refer someone else to them. How did they know we weren't planning to eat dinner? Obviously ""the customer is always right"" is not a slogan they live by. I would not recommend this place to anyone. Cons: Rude management more

We have been planning to try the new Spin Cafe for several months, having heard great things from our friends in Heber. We almost changed our mind when we read the reviews here, but decided to try it. And I'm glad we did. This is quite an incredible place and a unique new addition to Heber. A few weeks ago we experienced the Spin Cafe for the first time, we enjoyed our evening there, I have two toddlers. My mother who was with us was pulled aside by the owner/manager and told us how well behaved our children were and if we would write a review and we have been meaning too. BUT TONIGHT WAS ANOTHER STORY. SHOCKED by this man, Vincent, owner/manager who was so nice the last time we were there, sat us in a room with tile floor and that was not part of the restaurant. From the time we walked he seemed annoyed with us and especially with our two toddlers and there were four adults. We were finally wrapping it up to leave, the bill was paid. My two boys were excited as children get, and he came over to our table and told us he was trying to take an order and couldn't hear so if we could keep our children quiet. My boys not once left the table and they were giggling and having fun the whole time. We have never been treated so poorly and we go out to eat quiet often in the Heber Valley, we were excited for this new restaurant, that I will never go to again or recommend. Parents don't take your kids to this one. The people that wrote on 6/15/07 were right! As we had a similar experience. As for the food we are not impressed. There are other places to get Gelato in town, that I would much rather support as a local, Then to send some family there and have them get treated poorly because kids will be kids. You have to experience their cheeseburgers and onion rings. It's the best I have ever had in Utah. The ambiance of the place is retro and classy, the service was wonderful and the price is not any more expensive than it is anywhere else. I will definitely go back! If you go there don't forget to have one of their Gelatos! Pros: Everything! Cons: I wish it was in Salt Lake City too. more

Our meal began with a waitress that seemed annoyed that our party of four adults also included two toddlers. While the meal and service didn't warrant a positive or negative review, the truly poor customer service of the owner/manager does. As we were wrapping up our meal the toddlers became predictably restless. So, in the mostly vacant dining area, we let them play on the floor next to our table giggling and laughing but not being remotely disruptive. The owner/manager came to our table and sternly said we needed to keep our childern 'under control'. In attempting to save face he stated he was concerned for their safety, then almost immediately contradicted himself by saying he had some one complain. At this point we all just wanted to leave, which required asking this man repeatedly to just get us our check. We were absolutely shocked and really dissapointed will not be giving this restaurant any more of our business. There is no excuse for offending regular local customers. more

While the restaurant is very nice and the server was also friendly, there was no one waiting in line and it still took them 10 minutes to seat us in a 1/3 filled cafe. From the time we ordered until the food arrived it was the better part of an hour. The beans were dry and tasteless but the rosemary potatoes were excellent. I had the twin meal with two meats: ribs and chicken. The chicken pieces were the smallest I have ever seen in my life (drumstick and wing) and the pork ribs were very dry. The barbecue sauce had very little flavor. I was very disappointed. There were others in our party that had the pulled pork sandwich and thought it was very good; the brisket sandwich with an onion ring on top was also declared a winner. Due to the price (nearly $15 even for a sandwich), we probably won't go back. We expected a much better meal for the price paid. Oh, we did have the gelato and it was also very good. I give it only an average rating as I think there are better places in Heber City to eat. Pros: nice staff Cons: average food for high price more

VERY FRIENDLY SERVICE, CLEAN AND WONDERFUL ENVIRONMENT. GREAT PLACE TO GO WITH YOUR WHOLE FAMILY ( THEY DO A LOT FOR KIDS ) OR ON A DATE. IT'S NOT JUST A HAMBURGER JOINT, THEY HAVE A WIDE SELECTION FROM PASTA'S TO RIBS. YOU NAME IT THEY HAVE IT. THE DESERTS ARE TO DIE FOR SO SAVE ROOM. THEY EVEN HAVE TO-GO'S FOR LUNCH OR DINNER SO IF YOU DON'T HAVE TIME TO GO IN AND SIT DOWN GET SOMETHING ON THE RUN. I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND THE SPIN CAFE TO EVERYONE. more

I can?t believe we?re in Heber is was what your going to say after walking into this hip fun restaurant. Spin Cafe has some great barbeque, try the pork ribs served with real homemade bbq sauce or the pulled pork sandwich on a fresh baked potato roll. The menu doesn?t stop at bbq, there are pastas, salads and fresh fish on the menu as well, especially good are the Asian pork lettuce wraps. Not to be missed is the Gelato. The owner has a passion for gelato and makes fresh wonderful gelato every day. Pros: Ambience, Parking, Service, Food more
