Spencer & Spencer Pediatric Dentistry

Would not recommend this dental office to anyone. At first it seemed great, but recent events showed me that this is not so...\r \r My 8 year old son had one of his back teeth pulled, and a metal spacer put in. It was supposed to be a permanent fixture that could be removed years from now when his permanent tooth grew in. After about a month, maybe, he complained that it felt loose, and a couple days later, it came outcompletely while he was eating dinner. We made a trip to the dentist and they re-cemented it in. Maybe two weeks later, the spacer came out again. We made another trip, and they fixed it for us. It came out yet again a week or so later. This time, Jodie decided to make a custom mold of his mouth and order him a custom spacer that would be an exact fit. She informed me that this would perform much better than the stock spacer that she used before. Two years ago we moved to Missouri from Indianapolis IN so I wasn't totally familiar with the area so I had just randomly picked a dentist office to take My (now 6 year old) daughter, she had had really bad experience with her first ever dentist so we never went back and I began searching for another dentist who was actually good with kids and I had stumbled upon Spencer & Spencer and I am super glad I did. Jacey was so at ease with Dr Jodie and they quickly became ""friends."" She loves going to the dentist now, not just because of the colorful kid friendly atmosphere, which I have to say I LOVE going to also, but because everyone in the office is so friendly and really seem to care about their patients. Dr Jodie, is WONDERFUL!!! ...So when it was time for my 11 year old to get his teeth cleaned of course I looked no further than Spencer & Spencer! I NEVER thought I'd ever hear the words ""When is my next dentist appointment?"" from my 11 year old son who hasn't EVER liked the dentist. BUT when we found Spencer and Spencer he loved going there!! Dr. Jodie, Dr Glynn, and the whole team there are so wonderful, kind and caring!! Now he wants to be a dentist when he gets done with school...he says!! LOL!! Please if you are looking THE BEST dentist office go here!! You will not be disappointed!! We just started going to Spencer and spencer in lee's summit!! It's one of the easiest and best choices I have made for my kids! They BEG to go and when we have an actual appt. The kids are so excited!! Along with the kids I personally enjoy the staff and the sense of security they make me feel. The entire staff is knowledgable and takes the time to answer all of my questions- this is invaluable to me as most businesses do not provide customer service anymore! the entire staff is like a ride at Disney world!!! thanks Spencer and Spencer!!!! :) more

Dr. Glenn Spencer made my kids truly smile. With this being the first appointment for my youngest. He was able to get him to enjoy his first experience, and my son has asked several times can he go back. Dr. Spencer and his staff truly ROCK!!! more

After having a horrible experience at another pediatric dentist, we waited an entire year before looking for a new dentist for my two kids. I recieved a flyer in the mail, so i figured i would call and get a feel for the office. Paula answered and provided me with in depth answers to all my questions and if she didn't know the answer, she promptly found out. She was friendly and knowledgeable. We scheduled an appointment for the next week, so I would have time to prepare my daughter for the visit. I let her look at the website and see what the office looked like. She was most excited about the play area, of course. The day for her appointment came, and my daughter was very scared. When we got to the office, all her fears were forgotten. She loved everybody. The nurses helping with her x-rays were so friendly and got the x-rays that were needed without an arguement or fight from my daughter. They explained each step and let her ask questions before they did anything. Dr. Jodie saw both my kids first and then Dr. Glynn came and took a look. They both knew, as did I, it was bad enough for being put under at the St. Luke's Surgicenter. They explained each step that they would take to both myself and my daughter. I walked to the front expecting a huge bill (for the same procedures in the first office we went to, the bill totalled more than $1000 after our insurance). They gave me a treatment plan that was less than $150. It was amazing. Paula checked us out and again explained everything and asked if I had any questions. After the procedures at St. Luke's, Dr. Glynn and Jodie both came to talk to us and tell us what they found with her teeth. We had a followup appointment a few weeks later, and everything was terrific. When we went back for her six-month cleaning, she had absolutely no cavities. The best part was that she was excited to go see the nurses and Dr. Glynn and Jodie. She had no fears and was thrilled to be going back. After having bad teeth as a kid myself, I am so grateful we were able to find such an amazing office to take care of our children's teeth, so they hopefully do not have to deal with the same troubles I had to with mine. After just a quick check for our first dentist appointment, we headed back 6 months later for an actual cleaning for our 3-year-old son. The entire staff made him feel so welcome and the environment is equally as inviting. The hygienist who cleaned his teeth was more than patient and kind as our son continuously wanted to sit up and be done. She encouraged him and was able to finish the cleaning and varnish in to time at all. In came Dr. Jodie who quickly yet thoroughly checked over his teeth as well. Of course Noah was thrilled with the treasure chest and new toothbrush and, upon finishing, went back to the lobby to play on the slide and fort! When it comes to my children I look for the BEST! I didn't have to look to hard after I found Spencer & Spencer Pediatric Dentistry!! Thank you so much for an AMAZING experience for my two girls that came to your office a few weeks ago! Your office is AWESOME and SUPER kid friendly, the staff are all so very nice and were really great with my girls. If you are looking for a pediatric dentist look no further. Spencer & Spencer is AMAZING! The waiting room is set up in a fun jungle theme with video games and a jungle gym for the kids to play on while you wait. Once your name is called the fun doesn't end there. While your child is getting their teeth cleaned they have overhead TV's and you child may watch cartoons while the work is being done. They also have fun stuffed animals with over sized teeth so your little one can practice brushing their teeth. The office is very clean and the staff is very friendly. Both Glynn and Jodie are great dentists. They take their time with each little patient and really put the kids at ease. After you child has been seen they also get to pick a prize out of the treasure chest. This office makes going to the dentist fun for my little one. He even cried when we had to leave. We have seen SEVERAL dentists due to all of the work my then 4 year old daughter needed. We took her to 2 different pediatric dentists and our family dentist, and everyone agreed she needed surgery to correct her issues. We decided to visit 1 more pediatric dentist before making our decision, and I am SO relieved we found Spencer and Spencer! Dr. Glynn got us worked in right away. Instead of giving my daughter a 5 minute exam and then sticking me in a room with a hospital coordinator who would tell me what I'd owe at the end of my daughter's treatment, he actually talked me through everything, showing me what he needed to do, and explained the reason behind every procedure. He explained the different ways her conditions could be treated, and then explained why he did it the way he did. He encouraged me to get even more opinions if I wanted because it was an important decision to make, and he offered me the names and numbers of other dentists to consult. By the end of our hour-long appointment, I was so thankful we had tried just one more pediatric dentist! The staff was great with my daughter, who was a mess after seeing 3 other dentists in a 2 week time frame. Their Lee's Summit office is so kid-friendly and fun, and very convenient. I cannot say enough good things about this practice and I am so glad we found them. They will be taking care of our children's teeth for years to come! more
