Spence and Frye GM Specialist is excellent. I have gone to Art for maybe 25 or so years and I don't shop around once I find someone that takes care of me and treats me well. Art is very knowledgeable and if he knows I am tight on funds he helps me find used parts like a used transmission for my older car. He knows cars, far beyond just replacing parts (which is all a dealership does for you). He diagnoses problems and is creative in his approach to solutions. He is a refreshing change to a dealer and he is always trying to keep up with technology and his shop is clean. He knows what things need to be done and he will tell us what my son and I can do at home to save some money. He works hard, has a family of 4 or 5, and is an all around good guy. more

I've been a customer of Spence and Frye GM Specialist for about 2 1/2 years now. I found them on a whim, and I always tell them that it was the best thing that could have happened to me! I drive a Chevy Silverado, and I always just took it to the dealer for service. However, I was never happy with the results, I always felt like something was wrong after I got it back, and I was paying a lot of money to feel unsure. The dealership went out of business, and I needed to find another shop. I was never a big fan of bringing it to the dealer anyway. I ended up finding Spence and Frye a couple of miles from my office and I just drove in with no appointment or even a call. I'd never heard about them before, so it was completely by chance and not on a recommendation. I asked the guys there if they worked on Chevy's and they told me they did. It was the first time I finally felt comfortable in a shop. They gave it a thorough check since it was the first time they were seeing it. They reported what was good, bad and what needed to be worked on and what could wait. Since that first time, I've never felt taken advantage of when I go there. I was definitely happy with my first time there. For my work, I do traffic studies, and so I do a lot of driving. I usually take my car in there every 3-4 weeks for servicing. I need to have a reliable vehicle. With these guys working on my car, I feel completely secure driving through storms and all kinds of conditions. Also, I never know with my schedule when I'll be available, so I really appreciate that I can just drop it off and they'll get to it either that day or the next day, or let me know when they can get to it. I know I probably should make an appointment, but they are so great about working with my schedule! The people at this shop are great! Art and Omar and everyone else there are always working their bottoms off, but they always take the time to joke around and talk to their customers. They explain what they're working on and what the parts mean and or do. There is never any pressure from them either, they are the greatest group of people! Finding this shop is a happy ending to my story! My truck has never run so smoothly. Everything's been "Jim Dandy"! I've not had any bells or lights go off since they've been maintaining my truck. They pick up our units and drop them back off. They put aside other work to work on our cars in order to keep our business running.
