Spectrum Psychiatric Group

I have seen a doctor here for the past 3 years, and I would not be at the emotional state and level of wellness I am currently at had it not been for the help, and level of knowledge, that he has been able to provide. My experience here has been an extremely positive and beneficial one. \r \r However, keep in mind that finding a psychiatrist or therapist is a process of trial and error, and someone that might work for one person, won't work for someone else. Please don't judge and rate a business based on your own personal bias @ephemeraldolphin, @Hamden Hornet.\r \r My doctor has actually gone out of his way to take me off of all of my medications, and prefers NOT to prescribe anything. I am better off that way as well, and he is smart enough to see that. more

While the office staff was incredibly pleasant, the Doctor I saw here was incredibly clinical -almost to the point of being cold. During our first session, I expressed some concern over switching medications. The Dr. became very standoffish, and although he ended up prescribing me a medication I was more comfortable with, he made it clear that he was NOT happy about having to justify my Rx to the insurance companies. Things went downhill from there. After another meeting, I was told that there wasn't room for me in the practice. No real loss -I got an Rx that worked better for me & a list of other recommended therapists with openings in their practices. All the same, I felt as if I had been given the brush off from day one. If you're looking for a clinical psychopharmacologist, this place would be excellent. If you want talk therapy in a warm, welcoming environment, go somewhere else. more

My experience has been completely different from the previous user. I've been using this group for some time and have never had anything but positive interactions with my doctor or with the staff. They've been helpful, efficient and courteous. more

They clearly do not understand that someone who is seeking a psychiatrist is going through a difficult time and needs help. I called to make an appointment and i was told that someone would have to call me back. When they called back later I went thought a lengthy screening process and was required to give detailed personal information including my address date of birth and social security number and employer information. I was then told they would have to call me back. They called a while later when i was unable to answer the phone and left a message saying no one in the group could help me and god luck in my search for a doctor! I only hope they are not going through what I am and hope they don?t need help some day. I have forwarded his information to the better business bureau and the AMA.... Cons: they are not interested in helping anyone more
