This B&B is well situated. My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights recently, and we had a very pleasant experience. Valerie welcomed us with a glass of wine and gave us a tour of the place the first day. The house is nicely decorated and has a nice ambience. Our room was clean with plenty of towels. We had privacy. Her husband, Ron also was very gracious and made us a hearty biscuit and gravy breakfast on our last day. The dogs, Big Boy and Sophie were friendly too. more

On our family vacation to yosemite we decided to see more of the gold country. A Sonora local recommended Sparks ranch as the "" nicest place to stay within 100 miles"". Entering the property and driving up the gravel road we all began to see how peaceful and beautiful the place really is. The large yellow house on the right with beautiful oak trees and giant rocks that look like they are from pre historic times in front. Of to the left are open pastures and white fences. Once inside we were greeted my the sweetest woman whom I've ever met! She brought us to our private 2 bedroom suite that overlooks the pool and waterfall. The kids loved playing pool, playing in the pool, and swinging on the swing in the meadow. After the amazing biscuits and gravy that were served to us for breakfast we didn't want to go home! The rooms were very clean and nice! I highly recommend this place to anyone traveling to this part of the country! Thanks for making great memories of Sonora for us. more

My husband and I have driven past this place on the way to Black Oak Casino at least a hundred times and wondered about it. We looked it up on the internet and thought we would give it a try. The owner, Valerie, was extremely accommodating and allowed us to come up on a Sunday night. When we made the reservation, we were not aware of the type of place we were going to. It has the charm of a Bed & Breakfast - but it really is a Resort. From the moment we arrived, we were treated as friends not as guests. True, they do not take credit cards: is that so bad? It is not a hotel or motel, it is an experience that went beyond our expectations. We had full use of all the amenities, including the pool, hot tub and swim spa all night long if we wanted. We played pool late into the night without a worry about having the music up in the pool cabana. We relaxed like we have never been able to at any other hotel. In the morning, the owner (Valerie) had made us breakfast and we had a romantic breakfast by the poolside. I can not say enough wonderful things about this place. We got lucky; they mostly do group events - family reunions, weddings and such, so allowing us to stay without having a big party was so gracious. Thank you, Val and Ron for the wonderful time!! We will be back - with our friends!! more

I have experienced better 2/12/2011

This is for travelling nurses, I stayed at this place in December 2010 in the execitive suite and this woman refused to give me back my deposit after i moved out she stated that i had used alot of heating (propane) while she had her thermostat preset and cannot be changed above 72. She was rude and nasty to me after i moved out. I was freezing in that little place and my friend confirmed it. And another thing is she pops in all the time to show her house and interrupts you while sleeping, as i worked at night and i sleep during the day. If you are a private person as i am then this is not the place for you. This place is overpriced for no reason and it's not compact like all corporate housing should be because she does not have a stove in this place but a burner, no pots and pans and you have to go out to do laundry. I have rented from other people and never got treated like this..she stated on her email and i quote, ""I hope this does not happen to your next landlord"" the heating situation that is. I consider that very rude. Mind you another traveller who had left befor me had forgotten her slow cooker and she had called and was going to pick it up, that slow cooker was left outside for her to pick up...eeh things we see. Travellers be advised she is nosy and will ask you how much you get paid...that is too personal and none of her business. I consider it bad business when someone claims that your deposit was spent in cleaning when that a normal that the place has to be cleaned out after someone leaves..hotel don't put charges for cleaning sheet and all after we check out as that is precalculated with your total charges and what is soo dirty to clean while i had cleaned the place to my bestnand even did a walk through with her and the place was as i found it..the three weeks that i had stayed there. more
