Spa Mercer

I booked a massage for one hour, but the room is so cold, i requested several times for making the room a little warmer, but nothing changed, the therapist 's hands are so cold, touch my body so uncomfortable. The bed is hard, the blanket is very thin. The massage is just put a lot of oil and slide on my back, no skill at all. No relax, no comfortable, just waste time and money. I end up finish it at 30 minutes. A very bad experience, never go there again. more

I went to Spa Mercer hoping to receive a therapeutic massage to help me reduce the pain in my shoulder. I saw a therapist named Sunny, she was able to explain the difference between the muscles in my shoulder and how the healing process was supposed to work. I was amazed by her ability to help reduce the pain in my shoulder that I injured many years ago. I have tried many types of therapy and seen many massage therapists with out much result. I plan to return and receive more therapeutic massage from Sunny she really helped me when I needed relief. Thank you Sunny! more

If you want a kind, gentle relaxing massage do not go to Helen.She asked what I needed worked, I told her the usual: neck, back and calves. Within two minutes she was literally on my back, providing excruciating pain to that area. I've never had a massage therapist get on my back. Continuing with more pressure than a relaxing hot stone massage should have offered, I began to writhe in pain. I told her it was too hard and she said "it tight, I get it". Finally, within perhaps 25 minutes of the most painful massage I've ever received, I had to demand her to stop. She did not want to. I demanded that it was over, while sobbing in pain. I received a partial cupping that was also offered, but had to ask her to take them off due being put on so tightly. It took three days for my back to get to a point where I could get in and out of the car without wincing. My back was covered with bruises from the suction cups, of which I have pictures. The bruises lasted approximately a week. I left the spa unable to bend enough to put on my socks, thank god my shoes were slip on's. I've read other reviews, unfortunately too late to help me, about Helen, but I severely warn anyone who has degenerative disc disease, as I do, to not have Helen work on you. I have never left a massage table in the middle of a session. And I have never been in such pain before. I've had experienced massage therapists help me with my DDD, providing relief through myofacial release. This was a painful first for me. I wish that more communication had been provided from the front room, where I filled out my form, stating I had degenerative disc disease, to the massage provider. Also, it is imperitive that the client know that a hot stone massage given by certain massage therapist is going to be "extreme" deep tissue work and not relaxing. more

I have been here a number of times and this is becoming my favorite place I go to Spa Mercer sometimes when I really want to lounge in their heat rooms They will ask you what you want ? for me it?s always neck and shoulders ? and then that?s what you get!! I am a fan of Spa Mercer. The spa is friendly and knowledgeable. They recently renovated their site to include more services, which I think is awesome.They really helps me out since I incur sports injuries and require multiple visits in a short period of time. I called last minute, and got a same day appointment. When I got there, I was in a rush, and in a lot of pain. I got a massage with Irene and let me tell you, she took the time to listen to me and to find out what was hurting and where she needed to focus on. During the massage I could clearly see that she focused on my problem areas and didn't give me a 'routine' massage. I really needed time to relax in my busy schedule, and they got me in and out on time, but I never felt rushed. The massage was so focused on my needs that I was hoping not too accidentally drool (lol). I am HIGHLY recommending this spa. more

I went to Spa Mercer because I was staying in the hotel nearby this island. I am very glad it did. I highly recommend the Monthly special package. It is a scrub, and massage . I just wanted to say thank you for the great day today, My husband and I came to your spa this morning after our Anniversary...we both got a massage. It was wonderful, I have had a lot of different types of massages over the years becasue of my scoliosis...and this was the bests massage I've ever had. They really knew how to make a deep tissure massage very relaxing and luxurious. My husband had a wonderful massage as well..and the spa was beautiful, clean and very peaceful. I had the most amazing massage of my life. It was with Sherrie. She is the best possible masseus I have ever had and I have had TONS of massages. She is strong and works your body over like you've never experienced. I have a really bad back and I have never felt better. And this is my third time with her and each time it gets better. We all received facial and massage. they did a great job helping us each pick out the products that best fit our facial needs and mixed up mineral based makeup for us that really enhanced our complexions. What a great experience! I took my friend here for her birthday and we had the spa to ourselves for a complete day of relaxation - I've never felt so pampered (it was almost worth us turning 40 ;-). I have visited Spa Mercer several times for massage mostly. Being a nurse in Dermatology I was nervous about skin care especially facials. I decided to experience it once. After talking with the Therapist about skin, I decided to try the Spa Mercer Signature Facial. I thoroughly enjoyed this. I was really interested in the Facial Toning procedure to see if this really did improve muscle tone. I purchased a series of treatments and must say I do see a marked improvement.
