Spa At The Del Monte

My daughter and her complete bridal party had hair and a pedi. My daughter also had her hair done for the wedding. My daughter had a practice run with her hair. The first stylist was so bad that she decided not to go back, but the manager convinced her to try their best stylist. The day of the wedding the best stylist was in such a hurry to get out for the day, that he did such a bad job, her hair dropped even before she walded out the door. My daughter said that she will always remember how she hated her hair. All the girls were disatisied with their hair and the employees are very rude. Try the Lux spa or anywhere but the spa at del monte. more

Throughout my professional career, I worked in marketing and high-level event/conference planning for executives in finance. One perk was the events were always held at luxury resorts and hotels in the US and Europe, so I have been lucky enough to have regular spa treatments at places like The Breakers, Turtle Creek, Torrey Pines, and numerous Ritz Carltons and Park Hyatts, etc. When my family moved to Rochester and I left my job, I thought my luxury spa days were over. In my first few months I tried several over here in the Brighton/Pittsford/Perinton area ... all were fine, nice people, fair service, clean facilities, but really nothing special. Then I found the Del Monte, and I found my spa home! Outstanding services and facilities, and a staff that is extremely friendly while maintaining a level of decorum I found to be somewhat lacking at the other Rochester spas. (I don't like to chit-chat with my aesthetician, or smell someone popping popcorn in an adjacent break-room, or hear hairstylists cackling just outside the treatment room ... all of which I have experienced at other spas here.) Regardless of your spa treatment, I love that the del Monte staff really encourages guests to stay for as long as they'd like and use the sauna and showers, which are to die for! No big push to sell products either, which is awesome! Bottom line: I absolutely love the place and find it on par or better than any I've ever visited, anywhere in the world. more

I WAS VIEWING THE RETAIL AREA FOR APPROXIMATELY 20 MINS., BEFORE SOMEONE APPROACHED ME. IASKED TO SEE THE FACIAL AND MASSAGE AREA, BECAUSE I WAS GOING TO BOOK IT FOR MY WEDDING PARTY. I WAS TOLD THAT I COULD NOT VIEW THE SANCTUARY AREA,UNLESS I WAS HAVING A SERVICE. I COULD NOT BELIEVE THIS RULE , PEOPLE WANT TO SEE WHAT THEY ARE SPENDING THEIR MONEY ON, AND I WAS GOING TO DROP A VERY LARGE AMOUNT OF IT THEIR WAY.. NEEDLESS TO SAY I LEFT AND FOUND ANOTHER PLACE FOR THE WEDDING SPA DAY. THAT SPA WILL BE RECIEVING A POSITIVE REVIEW more

So I called today to order a gift card for my wife, the rep was condescending and very obnoxious. When I asked about the prices it was like pulling teeth, then even after the bad service from the rep I was still going to order the gift card, I asked for them to send it in a plain envelope and the rep said ""I can't do that, all of our envelopes have our logo on them"". Seriously, someone is going to drop $200 and you can't find a plain envelope to mail a gift card in? Your company is terrible, take your high prices and stuck up attitude and go out of business, you DESERVE IT! Cons: Bad Customer Service more

Absolutely amazing facilities, in fact best I have ever seen...sanctuary, locker room, amenties....HOWEVER, the facilities don't matter when the massages are less than par..and that is being generous. After having had over 100 massages and working in the spa industry for years, I was less than impressed by the techniques used in both massages here. I left feeling dissapointed and needing a real massage elsewhere! \r Sure, there are pros to this place such as the location, ameneties, and customer service...but in the end, you are going there for a spa service..not a friendly smile at the front desk.
