Wow

Good job done!

Worst

For timeliness, courtesy, capability and neatness, Southwest is on target; however, in hind sight I paid way too much for the job. I had Southwest repair a short collapsed section...

Extremely overpriced 2/20/2010

replaced a 1 foot section of drain pipe and 1 foot section of copper pipe from water supply line for washing machine everything was very easy to get to, took them less than 2 hrs and charged $725... I figured cost of supplies was probably less than $50-$75 so they roughly charged me over $600 for labor!!!\r \r Will never use again more

South West Plumbing is worst 9/18/2009

South West Plumbing give me a quote of $1,000 to fix two toilet water recycling problem and put a new washer to the hose. The person who wrote the quote must be crazy or too greedy. I found another company and fixed problem for $150. more

South West Plumbing is to be avoided 6/19/2009

we've used them three times: fix leaking washers, unclog some bathroom drains, install a dishwasher. They come right away and charge by the job, not by time. Two drains to unclog? Two charges! I do NOT like this company. The plumbers come in pairs - maybe good, maybe not -- but you pay for both. NOT a good deal - unless you have no choices. They give discounts, but how do you know they don't put the price up first? Is this a good deal? Who would know? Adequate in terms of work, but nasty in terms of overall service. more

Saved Me Thousands 4/23/2009

I needed a plumber! No one wants to call a plumber but I needed one bad. I had seen the trucks and the TV commercials so I decided to give them a call. My toilet was overflowing and would not stop! The guys showed up right away and figured out that my sewer was backed up. They told me that they thought that it must be the city main because the water just kept coming. The younger guy ( an apprentice i guess) started cleaning up the mess while the other one investigated the problem. In minutes he came back in and said that the city sewer was full and that he had called the city and they were on the way. When the city cleared their line my problem went away. The plumber did say that the lines in my house should be cleaned because they had been filled with the city sewage. It all made sense so I had them do the work.My charges were under $500.00 and I was glad to pay it. I could have been taken advantage of and would have signed anything to get my sewer fixed. It is refreshing to know that more

SEWAGE! 10/11/2008

They are awful. \r \r I made an appointment with them days in advance. They were to be here between 8 and 10 AM. They called at 9:30 and said they would be here after 10. I called them at 11:30. They did not know when they would get there. \r \r The tech showed up at 1PM. Tech said he could not do our job because he did not know how to size the gas pipe.\r \r The inspection was scheduled for Monday. They left me trying to find someone to do emergency work at 1:20 PM Saturday. \r \r Avoid them at all costs. more

Can any bid come in under $7,000 9/5/2008

Twice I had SW come out since they are the closest. Three times now I've had other companies, all of which were more polite and none of whom were insulting enough to suggest that the only real solution was a huge $7K bid one time and $8K bid another time. I've since learned from other plumbers that the $8K bid had much cheaper options any respectable plumber knows (and I now take care of it myself for about $60/year). The $7K bid was referred to by other plumbers as, "Well, yeah, that's ideal but rarely is done and most plumbers would offer but never pressure". The work done was ok... pricey but adequate, but after the 2nd visit reeking of arrogance and trying to brow beat me into multi-K $$ bids and treating me like an idiot for not doing a 2nd mortgage to do the work I decided never to call them again. more

South West Plumbing 6/10/2008

Had a problem - made a call - and they were here. The personnel sent out diagnosed the problem, suggested what needed to be done to correct the situation and scheduled the very next day to complete the work. They kept in touch, notified us when they were arriving and stayed until the job was completed. It was a good experience. I would recommend South West Plumbing to my friends. more

Great Service 12/24/2006

South West Plumbing is a great company. Through the horrors of the recent storm, SW plumbing was there. I had a tree fall on my roof and crash trough my house. Without power for a week. The tree knocked out some of my plumbing. I called the right company. Southwest plumbing was at my house with in 2 hours of the call. They gave me the up front quote before they started the work. With in no time at all my problems were taken care of. On top of the great quality service, the greatest thing that came from the experience was getting my plumbing taken care of by great people and getting a new roof. more

Very quick, felt ripped off, wasted plastic 9/22/2006

For timeliness, courtesy, capability and neatness, Southwest is on target; however, in hind sight I paid way too much for the job. I had Southwest repair a short collapsed section and the price I paid was exactly the same as I paid another company to re-dig the same hole, plus two more identical holes, pull a new pipe and connect it all up. Southwest did tell me I needed to replace my whole line, but only *after* they filled in the hole. I didn't even give them a chance to come back to do the job (especially since they didn't return my email and phone call).\r \r Southwest Plumbing might be right for you if time is critical, while money and the environment is not. We had a convergence of six SW plumbing trucks on our street at one time. Southwest's technique of protecting plants is to lay down hundreds of square feet of 6 mil black plastic, then pile the dirt on top. When this was picked up the next day I had wilted half-dead plants and a whole bunch of plastic trash they had to haul awa more

If you want good service call them. 7/20/2006

I need a plumber on a sunday and started calling all around. These guys came right away and had my water back on in no time. They were very professional and knowledgeable. I have since heard some bad things about them, but I think that some people just like to complain about everything. I would highly recommend them to any one! PROS: priced job up front, clean, honest CONS: a little more expensive but worth it more

Work is good but arrived late, overcharged 4/14/2006

They were very late (so late that they had to move the appintment to next day), but did not bother to call and tell me about it.\r When the guy finally arrived, he did his work very quickly and efficiently. He was done in under 30 minutes. Charged 460+tax.\r \r I called the manager to figure out why it cost so much. The manager said the guy overcharged us and the job really cost 310. I asked to tell me how much of it was labor and how much work and he said that the part cost them 35 bucks. That makes 275 bucks for half-hour work, which in my world is nonsense, even for a plumber. more

bad turned good. 6/16/2005

When me and my husband had just moved into our new house about 3 months into the winter it was cold. Well one night the furnace went out, and we called our landlord he said call any plumbling company and I will reimburse you. Well the name that stuck out in my head was "southwest" the are on the back of just about every phone book. So we called, the said the earliest they could get there was between 10-am-12pm. They ended up calling at 12:15 and saying that they were running late. Well they finally showed up at 12:45 and I after their service was done and they were righting up a ticket, I asked about a discount, for the time I was missing from work, and they said no, not really but we (they) will service my furnace (a 250.00 $ job ) for free. That made me pretty happy. I know it is something that probably doesnt cost them anything, but it wouldve cost me alot to call them back out there, to clean and tune up my furnace. PROS: late and expensive CONS: turning things positive more
