great service and ambience; adventurous cuisine 10/12/2005

We were there about a month ago with friends and sat outside in the lovely hidden garden. Food was good--adventurous, above average taste and lovely presentation. Wine list was interesting and reasonable. We had a great evening. Pros: adventurous cuisine, lovely ambience more

Good ambience, iffy value 8/31/2005

Though I love the bar, I think that the food is pricey for the portion size (especially the cheese platter). Also, I find the waitstaff to act a bit arrogant and the kitchen not very accomodating. I would definitely have drinks here but for dining I will go elsewhere. more

Hidden Gem 7/21/2005

Briefly... Good food (pre-dinner roll a plus), small portions though, and reasonably priced; Good wine selection (loved that they had Kim Crawford) and reasonably priced; OK service (had a real unappealing, sweaty, frazzled waiter); Ambience is great for first dates (a plus towards the hidden outdoor area), but too close to the adhoc ""group section""; Overall a great find!!! Fine for a date - leave the kids at home though! 7/12/2005

For a neighborhood restaurant, the food and ambience are great - but they have some weird attitude about children - which is not something I expected in a neighborhood place. Our kids, and our friends kids (if I do say so myself) are great restaurant kids - they like eating out, they behave, they don't throw fits or silverware. But the owner here (and it trickles down to the waitstaff) does everything in his power to discourage kids. It's a shame - I'd spend a lot more time and money (as would our friends) here if we could bring the kids and feel comfortable. more

nice small restaurant 5/27/2005

Do not expect a big restaurant. However, service was fantastic. No rush, yet you did not have empty plates sitting for a long period. Everyone was friendly. We were thanked by three people on the way out. Portions were ample and novel. The menu was smaller than expected, but the wine list was very reasonable. Desserts were a real plus. Can't wait to try again. Pros: Portion size, food quality, service Cons: Menu alternatives, Room size more

New favorite 5/12/2005

What a terrific addition to the neighborhood - fantastic food and the best bartender in town. Their menu changes frequently and manages to be both highly accessible and daring. Desserts are wonderful with plenty of diversity. The dining room is very small though, and not well-suited to large groups. more
