Southtown Ear Nose & Throat

I am a patient of Dr. Gaas who works for Southtowns ENT and he is just wonderful. He did a fantastic job on my surgery back in March 2012, and is always very kind and professional. However, Dr. Mandych was and is a snide, ignorant, rude and unprofessional doctor. I have never even met this man, he was a ""doctor"" on call 9/14/2012 and was so inconsiderate he had me in tears. He needs to learn that yes he is the doctor, but he should also know how to treat and speak to people. Takes respect to get respect ""Doc."" My mother always taught me if you have nothing nice to say don't say it at all. more

Dr. Mandych was my surgeon in 1999 when I needed my deviated septum repaired. He has an awesome bedside manner. I was thrilled to know Dr. Mandych was still around a few years ago, when my then 5 year old son needed his tonsils and adenoids out. Now, it is my husband's turn to be evaluated, and I know that he is in good hands with this doctor. more

I had a sinus infection for over 2 months one of the longest periods of time i've ever had one was on 6 different medications and when I went to see him he said ive always had a sinus infection but some flare ups were worse then others. I went for a cat scan a few days after i seen him in his office and went back to see him a few days later so he could look at the cat scans. I had sucha bad deviated septum that was almost totally blocking my right airway bc when i went for the consultation he had a pediatric scope that he looks to see if u have pollups and he couldnt even get the scope up the right side of my nose bc thats how blocked it was and my sinus in my forehead on the left side was totally blocked and had really bad headaches. He recommended that i have the surgery bc if not it would get worse as i get older.I had the surgery on nov 29th at st joes and even though it was a little discomforting it didnt compare to all the yrs i was suffering now its almost 2 months later and i feel better then ever not always sooo tired bc i can actually breath to sleep..I would recomend him to anyone that needs to see an ENT old or young! more

I must say, I have been round and round with ENT's. I have had my child in and out of ENT's and Pediatric ENT's. He was still seeing a Pediatric ENT until I had to see one. Dr. Mandych was the 3rd ENT I had seen. I had severe headaches and eye swelling. I seen Dr. Mandych the first time on Dec. 22nd. I was scheduled for a cat scan on the 26th (within walking distance of his office) and had a return visit to him on the 30th. I had a completely deviated septum and sinus damage as well as a growth of some sort that was completely blocking off my sinuses on the left side of my head. He explained everything in detail incredibly. He told me that surgery was my decision but it was something I definitely needed. The surgery was scheduled for January 19th at St. Joe's. I was in at 8 in the morning and out by two. The discomfort was just as he had explained, but the pain was not severe at all. I am returning for a follow up today but I feel wonderful. Ten fold better than I have in ten years. I can not believe how well I can breathe. The visits to his office are absoloutely painless. you are in and your out and attended to at all times. I would recommend him to anyone. His knowledge is incredible.\r \r I have switched my child to his care and only wish that it would have been done sooner. Pros: All Thumbs Up more

listen to every thing I had to say ,was not in a rush to leave the room, Never gave up on finding what was wrong with my child. Every one in the office is very nice and happy .Very nice and caring to kids Pros: does not take long to be seen very clean Cons: takes me 2 hrs to drive there more
