Southtex A/C & Heat

Finally an honest A/C company! Owner Steve is truly wonderful. Very dependable. We have a 2 yr old and a 3 yr old and having A/C in Houston, Tx during the summer is really important when you have little ones. We've used him 3 or 4 times now for our current home as well as our rental home here in Pearland. He is personable and HONEST! We've gone through 3 A/C companies that charged us ridiculous amounts of money and left us feeling totally ripped off after. These other companies also tried to talk us into adding several things we really didn't need, ranging from $900-$1500. We originally called Steve as a second opinion and I'm so glad we did. We'll stay with his company from here on out! more

I have to take a minute and recognize a local business that stepped up to the plate and helped out a family in need. SouthTex has been servicing our customers for several years now, so when our air when out we knew exactly who could take care of us. As usually, Steve came right out and took care of the problem. While Steve was at our house, we began talking about our friends who has not had air conditioning or heat for the past several years. Without hesitation, Steve immediately wanted the name/address. He then contacted the homeowner and donated the entire unit (and labor). It is not often you find someone that is willing to go above and beyond without being asked. SouthTex is everything a family-owned local company should be. Not only does it take care of its customers, it looks out for and gives back to its community. Highly recommend SouthTex!! more

Needed some major AC work done. Got 3 different bids and Southtex was the lowest. Had the coil, plenum, and all ductwork in the house replaced along with all vents. Around $3500 worth of work. Southtex did and excellent job, very professional and great communication. If ever I need more work done I would call these guys first. more

My A/C needed repair and I didn't know anything about how or who to contact for repairs. I remembered a local small company that supplied me with A/C filters. This company was Southtex AC and Heating. I was planning to leave town in one day. I phoned at 7am hoping that I could get service on that day. Steve Colello answered the phone and I explained my situation to him. He assured me that he could come and repair my unit that day. Upon arrival Steve diagnosed the problem very quickly and he even had the necessary parts on his truck ready to go. He could have easily fabricated the problem but he was honest. This is what a customer wants. Upon completion he assured me if I had any problem not to hesitate to phone him. I am cool and back into business. I would refer Southtex a/c to all my family and friends. Honesty is a rare trait in the repair business. I came face to face with it today. It was quite a pleasure. Thanks Steve. more

Our a/c went out late one night, I called Southtex a/c the next morning and told Steve (the owner) about my problem. He came out the same day and looked at the unit, told me what was wrong. He replaced my unit the same afternoon, thank heavens, because the temp. was in the 90's outside. He did the work fast and got us back in the cool that afternoon. The unit he installed is a great unit, I can now put my themostat on 78 instead of 76 and be just as cool. I would not call another a/c company, I would only call on Southtex a/c, they are the BEST!!!!!! Pros: Great people to work with Cons: no cons - all pros more
