Another Death - Justice for Summer 6/25/2014

I just recently touched based with Vinny Nugget's (JUSTICE FOR NUGGET) owner about what just recently happened to my dog (my fur-baby) Summer. On June 6th, 2014 my husband came home to our 12 year old Pitbull mix, Summer having problems breathing - so frantically i called all over at 6pm on Friday and almost every vet closed (we just moved to Massapequa - we weren't familiar with the area) and finally Babylon Animal Hospital answered and said they were there until 8 so i called my husband to bring our dog there immediately.\r In regards to my Summer - we advised the vet that she had the beginning stages of Cushings but has been in good health since her diagnosis from our vet in Freeport. Dr. Beiderman is the vet that looked at Summer - she advised we put her on Mitatane and Predazone for treatment. They put her on Mitatane 2x daily at 500 mg each dose. Dr. Beiderman advised us if Summer starting vomiting or having diarrhea from the Mitatane (chemo drug). By Sunday night, June 8 Summer s more

I do not recommend this place. Terrible experience. 5/11/2013

I have never been treated so rudely by so many employees at one business, on many separate occasions. I brought my dog here following a dog fight that left her with a small hole on the skin of her abdomen. They performed a surgery, and it was not done correctly. My dog nearly died as a result. When I called the next morning to tell them something was clearly wrong, she needed to be seen, they told me they were booked, and offered an appointment for the next day. I cried she might not even be alive tomorrow. You did this surgery and now youre not going to see her, when im telling you something is wrong?? No, they wouldnt. I called my regular vet, who had me bring her right in. (This had happened around 7pm, so my vet was closed or i'd have gone there first.) My vet was horrified to find the condition they'd left her in. He told me anyone performing surgery on a dog's abdomen must know the skin has to be stitched to the muscles at the top of the inside of her abdomen, otherwise fluid wou more

I have never been treated so rudely by so many employees at one business on so many separate occasions. I brought my dog here following a dog fight that had left her with a small hole on the skin at the bottom of her abdomen. They performed a surgery on her, which was not done correctly, and my dog nearly died as a result. When I called them the very next morning after the surgery to tell them something was clearly wrong, and my dog needed to be seen, they told me they could not see her that day, that they were booked, and went on to offer me an appointment for the following day. I cried and said she might not even be alive tomorrow, you did this surgery on her, and you are actually not going to see her, when im trying to tell you something is wrong??? No, they wouldnt see her that day. At that point I called my regular vet, who had me bring her in right away. (This had happened around 7 in the evening, and my vet was closed already or i'd have gone to him to begin with. Babylon Animal Hospital was the closest to my house that was still open.) My vet was horrified to find the condition they had left her in, and he pointed out the lack of knowledge on the part of the ""surgeon"" at Babylon Animal Hospital. He told me any vet performing surgery on a dog's abdomen must know that the skin has to be stitched to the muscles at the top of the inside of her abdomen, otherwise fluid would have a place build up, which is what happened to her. The tissues inside her stomach were so infected as a result of the bad surgery Babylon Animal Hospital had performed, that my vet had to give her another surgery, the correct way, and had to remove a large amount of infected tissue from her abdomen. If I had no other vet, and I left it up to Babylon Animal Hospital, my dog would be dead right now, and Im not exaggerating in the least. I am sharing my story because I hope to prevent this from happening to other pets. Even after all that, I was still kind to them whenever I've had reason to have to call Babylon Animal Hospital. Today I called to request removal from their mailing list, (as I have several times already). I was kind to the woman who picked up the phone, and was treated with a sarcastic nasty attitude and hung up on, without my request being fulfilled. This business has proven its inadequacy to me many times, and i pray for the poor animals that find themselves in the care of Babylon Animal Hospital. Thank you for taking the time to read this, I hope it helps you to make the right decision for your beloved animal. God bless. more

Horrible Euthinasia Experience 12/12/2011

Had our Toy Fox Terrier euthanized today, she was suffering from Cushings Syndrome. What at HORRIBLE ordeal! It took forever for the sedation to make her sleepy and never actually did, then they went in with something stronger along with the acutal euthanization medication. She screamed and cried and finally after convulsing, died. I can't remember the last time my wife and I cried as much. SLOPPY JOB! WE'LL N E V E R BE BACK !!!!! more

Even tho there was nothing left to do, he was all heart 2/6/2011

When my blue merle great dane isis had a bloat attack, i called my favorite vet, Dr Liguori and he told us to rush in right away. He assured me that i got in in time, and i was so scared about money, because i didn't have any. He worked with me, sadly there was no saving her, she made it through the surgery, but she just didn't handle it well after that. He was so kind, and understanding, and didn't charge me for most of what he did. I wouldn't go to anyone else as long as im here in NY more

Pretty Good Vet 12/9/2008

This vet is pretty good. The secretaries are very nice and they always have appointments available at last minute notice. They are also open Sundays. I suggest that you request a vet that has been there a while because otherwise you could get a young/new vet and they seem to go through them a lot (i always get a different one). They are good with prices and honest. If I ask for an expensive medicine they will tell me that it's not necessary and give me a cheaper one. more

Babylon Animal Hospital 3/3/2007

This is Mister Kitty's vet since 1998 when he was an adopted kitten. True, I seem to spend $100 every time he's sick, but he has chronic rhinitis that he lives with, no cure. Even so, he stays pretty healthy. About this amount covers the exam and the medicines. They have several veterinarians on staff. To me, that multiplies the diagnostic knowledge. It's like a second and third opinion. It is obvious the staff and doctors really care about the animals. I have seen local animal activists bring in injured strays there and the good doctors treat them gratis. That impresses me, it confirms they really care. I have learned through friends that some vets are greedy and they've had negative experiences. If you live around here, you've found yourself a first class vet. more
