We have been taking my 3yr old daughter to this pediatrician since she was 6mths old. They took great care of my daughter. We had not had any major problems, besides their attitude, until just recently. 3wks ago I took my daughter in to see Dr. Gulley, one of my favorite drs. He looked at my daughters leg because there was a huge red bump that looked infected. He lanced it and sent it off for tests. In the meantime, he gave her some antibiotics The tests came back and it was Staph infection. They said she would be fine. About a week later, I took her back in for a routine check-up with Amy Mulcahy. Another spot had appeared and I asked her to look at it. She barely took the 2 minutes to look, then prescribed her some cream. She explained that "It's just like Neosporin, but prescription strength." So, when I got home, I put the cream on my daughters leg and covered it with a band-aid. The next day, the bump looked way worse than before. I got scared and took her to the E.R. immediately. 3 hours later, I was told it was MRSA (Methicillin Resistant Staphylococcus Aureus) The doctor at the E.R. told me to schedule an appointment with Dr. Gulley in 3 days. I scheduled the appointment, and showed up when we were suppose to. Heather Pondinas was the person we seen not Dr. Gulley. She looked at my daughters bump, said she was fine and started to leave. My mother asked her a question, and she explained vaguely what was going on. She said the report from the hospital was "confusing" and couldn't figure out what it was saying. CALL THE HOSPITAL!! Told me to spray our tub out with bleach after a bath, no sharing towels, ect. My husband called back later to ask why they didn't send my daughter to a specialist. I'm glad he did because nobody explained any of the proper actions I needed to be taking. She is suppose to have bleach baths 3x a wk for a month and the cream is suppose to go in her nose and her butt, not on the spot. Who forgets to tell you something important like that?? We will never take our daughter back to them.
