Southern Green Chemical Lawn Care

I've been using Southern Green for the past five years, and I gotta say I don't think most of you ""critics"" understand the purpose of a lawn service. I mean truly some of your comments are just plain silly. I can tell you without a shadow of a doubt that the results I have been receiving are not from them just spraying WATER! I live in Eagle Harbor and I can assure you that my HOA would be all over me if my lawn looked bad. Thank you Southern Green for providing me the good ole fashion lawn service I had been looking for. I was with the big corporate guys before, and never again. The key to this kind of service is the technician, all these companies have to use the same chemicals by law! Trust a family owned and locally operated service like these guys, they will work with you on getting your lawn back in shape no matter what the condition. Plus they've got a great core group of service minds over there with all types of experience. Thanks again guys! more

I was formerly using Peninsular Pest Control, however, my lawn was not doing any better for some time. I was contacted by Southern Green in regards to them being able to make my lawn lush, green and one of the best in the neighborhood. I decided to give them a chance, after being ""harassed"" by them for my business for a period of time. Once I made the decision, it was not only my yard, but my aunts next door and also my mothers yard which is two doors down. This was a huge mistake to allow them to service these yards. After 3 months of being lied to, not able to get any of my calls returned by the sales rep who I agreed to do business with and much frustration on the service that they provided.....I have FIRED them. Their customer service rep, Paul, is one of the most rude and inconsiderate persons that I have ever talked to. Their service manager sprayed my yard, my aunts and my mothers 7 days ago and after voicing my frustration to him he stated that the next two treatments would be at no charge for all three yards, they came back today and guess what, left me a bill. The service manager even made the comment that the tech was not using the correct chemicals and he gave me his word that I would see improvement, if I gave them a chance. If you are looking for disappointment, lip service and no results this is the company you want. I am going to make sure that I inform anyone that I can about their service. Tried to write a review on the Better Business site, however, they are not a member....this should have been my first sign. more

I used to use Tru-Green and my lawn looked hideous. One day, I got a call from Tony at Southern Green soliciting my business. I was going to look for a new lawn chemical service anyway, so I listened to what he had to say. He explained that Tru-Green is owned by a bunch of Yankees from up North, and that they treat lawns the same all across the country, without regard to Florida's unique and harsh climatological issues. As the local guys, Southern Green's program is specially formulated for our local conditions. Furthermore, Tony explained, he could beat Tru-Green's price by a large margin.\r \r My lawn looks great! The technician is always thorough and helpful and takes the time to point out things that I can do to make the lawn even healthier. My weeds and bugs have all died and the grass is absolutely flourishing. more

Ruined my lawn. Fired them after they sprayed water and said it was treatment. Charged $30 extra for special Chinch Bug insecticide resistant to regular poisons. What a scam. I actually got chinch bugs after that! If you have them, run out and have the guy squirt his chemicals into a small jar. Then have the city inspect what's in it. These people should be in jail. more

I've tried you once and you failed, so I fired you. You came back asking for another chance, and like a sucker I said okay. Well, once again ""Your Fired"" as Donald Trump would say. I have more holes in my yard from the weeds that have gone dormant, not died, but still waiting for that warm air to take over the rest of my yard. I am sick of calling and getting that same negative response from customer service. I'm sick of your techs telling me they treated for weeds, when all they do is place their marker in the ground and drive off. I've seen it happen, I was home. The tech drove up, jump out of his truck and knock on my door leaving the invoice. Get's right back in, and drives off. What the hell is that? Southern Green, you suck, ""Your Fired."" more

This company sucks, they come every month and spray stuff on my lawn without my permission, when I call the office to speak with a manager no one calls back, they just want your money !!!! more

I've never really felt an urge to write a review for a company but i was pretty impressed with these guys. My lawn looks the best it has in years and i havnt had any problems. Been with them for about 6 months now, and only got good things to say about them. The kid who sprays my lawn is great. Would never go back to the other guys! more

My yard has had its ups and downs over the years, but it is now in the best shape it's ever been in. Southern Green's service and advice have been well worth the small fee that I pay. They have walked me through the issues that I had with my lawn and now it looks great. Thanks Southern Green. more

Southern Green has done wonders for my lawn. Ever since I started the service, I've seen awesome results. The brown patches and weeds are gone! Any concerns I had were handled with a quick response. Its nice to finally find a lawncare company that provides quality service. The employees are experts at what they do and the price is so reasonable. This company is highly recommended! more

We have used Southern Green for eight years and have been very happy with their service. Naturally we have had weeds pop up, but a call to them has been met with quick results. Many yards in our neighborhood suffered during our harsh winter last year, but with Southern Green's expertise, our lawn quickly came back. The hot, dry summer did a number on many lawns due to chinch bugs, but again Southern Green took care of us. Neighbors are always stopping to comment on our lush, green lawn. I have been a customer since spring of 2010. My lawn has never looked better. The winter did a number on my lawn but southern green gave me the proper education that all other companies ive used were unwilling. I have since recommended southern green to friends and family who are also getting great results!!!!! more

I am very pleased with my service at Southern Green. I am surprised to read the negative complaints. These customers must not be giving the service a chance or are not following the watering and mowing recommendations given. My lawn looks better than it ever has! more

Crafty salesman on the phone. My situation is different. I was trying to save my yard. Southern green agreed to treat the yard and I was told that I would see a positive result in 17 days or I would not have to pay. The weed loved what they put down and grew to their full potential and over took the yard. I called and told them what was going on and they treated again. I was not at home when they treated and declined to treat the back yard. The bill that they left had hand written notes telling me that they could not save the yard. I would have to re-sod. The bill said that I needed to pay the bill. They did not live up to the deal they had made. I have been fighting with them ever since and have recently included a lawyer. Don't walk away from these people, run as fast as you can. You have been warned. more

Put this Company out of business before they cheat anyone else. Be sure to read all reviews and be very leary of those reviews that speak well of this Company. See BBB rating its an F!!! more

Dont ever trust this company!!!!\r \r Everything they said was a lie! My lawn looks worse than ever after they have treated it! I now have dirt and dead grass for my lawn and they did not take any accountability for not doing the job they promised to do. When I called to cancel, I spoke Marie the office manager who was very rude and did not listen, she spoke over me everytime I tried to express a concern regarding the service we had received. I am disgusted with the service I received and do not recommend this company to anyone! This company has no idea what keeping their word to the client means!!!! Unless you want to be seriously disappointed and angry dont do business with this company! Cons: EVERYTHING more

They will sucker you in for a low price, but remember you get what you pay for. They treated my lawn for a year and it died. Once Spring rolled around they fertilized the heck out of it; NEVER greened up nor could they identify the problem/issues I was having. They continued to treat my lawn for 2 months and after them not able to resolve issues: NOT returning phone calls, NOT correcting the yellowing, NOT addressing the dying blades of grass, NOT being able to address the gray leaf spot (I identified this myself). I canceled. A week later Truley Nolan came out, they identified the problems of yellowing, gray leaf spot. My grass has greened up and the spots are gone. This was after 1 treatment. J.D. called during supper quoted me a price, I said 'thanks but no thanks"" and he treated my lawn anyway and now tells me he will send the bill to collections if I don't pay. \r The whole company seems to full of bullies and if others are beening treated like this we need to shut them down. These guys lured me in with the talk of low price, no contracts, top level service, free return visits if they miss something. In less than a year they destroyed half of my back yard and a big piece of my front yard. Weeds everywhere, chinch bugs destroying huge sections. We had paid for a year in advance in January to try and save money and have not had any luck in getting a refund. I have left messages for the owner (Sean) at least 5 times and no response. I recieved a call from Southern Green and they told me that they wanted an opportunity to earn my business. At first their promises sounded to good to be true. They promised to fertalize my lawn, kill my weeds and kill my bugs in my yard. I gave them a chance and they did what they said they were going to do! Imagine that a company in this day and time that keeps their word! I'm so pleased with them, when my neighbors compliment me on my yard, I tell them these guys walk the walk!
