I had two water valves replaced in my home and the plumber from South Side did a great job! He arrived on time, worked steadily all day. He was very respectful in his interactions with us, cleaned up afterwards, and took time to give me any needed explanations. For one of the valves, it involved opening up the wall behind the shower. Fortunately, there was paneling that could be removed. At the end of the day the plumber sealed up the wall and replaced the paneling perfectly. I would call them again. more

The men that were working on the sewer line busted it and it shot rocks all over my house, front porch, roof, yard and driveway plus dents in my window air conditioner.. The one swept the driveway and then swept it again sweeping the rock into my grass, which I told him not to . It would hurt the mower and shoot out the rock. Some of the rocks were 3-4 inches in diameter. They were laughing about it- that my house was pelted with rocks. It truly is a miracle that my windows didn't bust out. I swept and cleaned up rocks for some time. Threw these two inconsiderate men off my property. \r I still have rocks on my front porch roof that I left a message to the company to have cleaned off.\r After contacting the company, to tell them what happened with these two seemingly incompetent men. I heard them say they were close to the lines, but instead of digging with their hands they used the back hoe and broke the line.\r I tried to contact someone again from the company and no answer.\r \r I have a heart condition and lungs, and can't get up on my roof to clean up the rock and the gutters. They have not contacted me back. But the men took a lot of pics of the house.\r All I asked was to clean up the mess. Which was not done properly, and no response to the roof situation.\r To watch them laugh about all this has angered me. Now I know why people would sue a company like this.\r \r The water company had to come out and fix the problem they caused.\r I would recommend never never to use this company with such inconsiderate and incompetent workers.\r more

Excellent service. They arrived on time as promised. Plumber fixed the leak under my sink and I thought the cost was reasonable. I would recommend this company. more

\r \r Terrible company. I found out that they sent a first year apprentice not a journeyman plumber to do my work. That is illegal under Allegheny County Article XX law. All apprentices are to be directly supervised by a journeyman. A journeyman was never was on the job. I was apparent that the kid was over whelmed and was not sure what to do. Never use this company. more

Not sure who is running the show over there, but they need someone new! These guys don't seem to have any idea of how to run a business! more

Called South Side Plumbing several weeks ago to fix a clog in our sewer. It was backing up in our basement. They couldn?t clear the clog and wanted to dig up our whole yard for a HUGE price. Thank God we got a second opinion from a reliable company, who fixed the clog without digging and without the big ticket price! Call a professional company! Avoid the trouble! We used South Side Plumbing at the end of September and were grossly overcharged. The work was messy and average to say the least! I will NEVER use South Side again and will be sure to tell everyone I know! Save yourself a big headache and use a PROFESSIONAL company! Pros: none Cons: many more

I am a recently new customer to South Side Plumbing. I own and manage many rental properties in the pittsburgh area, so i constantly have a need for a plumber and HVAC tech. I recently had a bad expirence with another company and a friend turned me on to SOUTH SIDE, they have been nothing but helpful from their secretary to their workers constantly coordinating with my busy schedule to gain access to properties. I have been a customer of south sides for many years i have found they are very professional and one of the most resonable in the price department.. South side plumbing always made the extra effort to get the job done at the least cost to me the customer i mean lets face it , no one works for free and to cry about a meisly $ 75 like the other reveiwer is inexcusable try some other plumbers out there buddy you will be coming back to south side in know time. I had used this company numerous times in the past for my rental property and called them for a for a heating issue in late 2008. They came to the property relatively quickly and immediately got to work. Once they diagnosed the problem, they told me what needed to be done, procured the parts and completed the job. I paid for the job in its entirety as soon as the work was finished. Pros: Good work if they don't rip you off in the process. Cons: They rip you off. more
