When & if I move I will definitely use Southland movers again. The 2 men Carlos & Wymand, were excellent & had a long haul from the loading dock to my 3rd floor apt. they were real troopers. I felt bad for them & then had to cancel a job due to the rain when I moved & the long haul to get to my apt. Very pleased & highly recommend more

Southland Movers were professional, careful with our antiques, punctual, reasonably priced (local move including a storage unit), friendly, and covered our new hardwood floors so as not to damage them. When their manager (not sure of his title) came out for the free estimate, we knew very quickly that this was the company for us. I had just broken a bone and was unable to pack anything. He understood what we needed done (packing, moving, putting beds back together) and that some of our furniture had sentimental value. I had NOT gotten a good vibe from another company's rep who had visited for another free estimate a couple days previously. I was so pleased that I found Southland Movers; we highly recommend them. more

I have used these movers several times to move my parents and myself, with the last time being a move from Houston to Kerrville. They were wonderful, as always! I highly recommend them for price and reliability! I've also recommended them to many people who have used them, and every time, I hear wonderful things! more

The movers put a hole in my wall and said it was not them. Me and my sister watched them do it. Then the truck broke down several times, imagine, i am paying by the hour. The guys were professional except that the main guy was the only one that spoke English. When i called the company about the wall, he wanted to come the next day to fix it, i had to be moved out the day of my move. He could care less. Be careful with this company, inspect all your walls beforehand. Before they do anything, make sure their truck is in working condiiton. more

For reference, my high school job for 2 years was at a local moving company in my hometown. To say I have carnal knowledge of the process is an understatement. Key points: - I was quoted around $500, and I paid about $1000. - They broke my front door - They broke some other stuff that I was told would be replaced, and never has been - Some of my belongings pulled a disappearing act I moved from NW Houston to Katy. My wife and I packed our belongings and got it ready for the move. 4 guys show up with 2 trucks, and one speaks enough English to be dangerous. The quote was for about 4 hours. My neighbor had done something very similar, same size house, more belongings, to Cinco Ranch, but a different company with 2 guys. I believed, like a simple word problem in algebra, we'd just get done that much faster. Didn't happen that way. They broke my front door at the new place and I had to argue with the guy about that. He claimed that it wasn't possible. I have before and after pics (before pics even listed online because we just purchased the home). Finally the guy gave in and paid for the whopping $100 to fix the door, which I had to arrange on my own. The other broken item was an empty promise. Owner kept saying he'd get back to me. He didn't. Multiple attempts made. All in all, the staff was friendly, but the overall experience was a complete scam. Avoid this company. more

I was really worried about picking a moving crew to move my family. I was only moving about 30 minutes away and was scared of the hourly rate deal, since some reviews I read (other movers) said they worked slowly. That is not the case with these guys. The came in and started...and never quit til they were done. Even ate lunch on the way to the new house, not missing a beat. I would recommend to everyone. more

I have moved 3 times in the past 5 years, and used Southland Movers 2 out of 3 times (July 2011, September 2013). Southland was excellent, both times! They are punctual, careful with your things, polite, professional, and super efficient... Also, reasonably priced (2nd cheapest (out of 3-4), whenever I have called around to compare prices). That's ""reasonably priced,"" in my opinion. \r \r In between the 2 times I went with Southland, I decided to try the cheapest movers... The cheapest company got the job done-- BUT, were over 1 hour late & ruined my dining room table AND small bookshelf. \r \r Moral of the story: Cost to replace ruined furniture > Money saved by going with the cheapest movers... I would definitely use Southland movers again. We were very satisfied with the overall experience we had with the three men that came to move us. I would give a 5 star but as with anything, I believe that we can always improve. We had a few scratches on a couple pieces of furniture, even though these men wrapped each piece of furniture and tried to be very careful, somethings just happen. Very satisfied and look forward to using them in 1-2 years when we relocate... and I promise to do it in the fall of the year. These guys moved us in the middle of the heat wave and didn't complain once.. Great job guys!!! more

I am one who has more than there fair share of bad luck, but when it came to organizing this move Southland made it very simple. They gave us a good flat rate price since our move was considered long distant. Also they were fast, professional and very courteous. I would recommend them to anyone. It's not very often that from the call, to the pricing to the service that the everything was great. And they are on time!!!! more

I have used movers 3 times and Southland was by far the best of the lot. The price they quoted was very fair. They showed up on time and were neatly dressed - no sweaty tank tops, etc. They went worked hard and fast, but still took great care to protect what they were moving. Their truck had problems on the way to the new city, but they persevered and showed up at the new place around 5 PM. Still they kept right on with the job and had things unpacked that same evening., all the while being very helpful in placing things for me. It was a very long day for them, but they never wavered in their professionalism and attitude of support for their customer. more

Overall a good experience. I did have 3 pieces of furniture that the paint was damaged during the move. That was a bit disappointing, but hey...things happen. more
