We moved to Boston a few months ago and needed to find a new vet for our dog. We chose South Boston Animal Hospital based on reviews. We were not happy about our visit and will NEVER go back. Pros: office staff are very nice Cons: Vet's priority is making money, not taking care of dog more

We had moved to South Boston and needed a vert ASAP. The vets were nice adn seemed to be well educated, but the office was not very clean. They carry a variety of pet food. more

I have been a client at the South Boston Animal Hospital for 17 years since I got my precious little Bossman - unfortunately I had to put him to sleep the other day due to kidney failure but I had to let the staff and hopefully everyone else know that over the years even with the changing of vets until Dr. Waggener came I never met a more professional, caring and loving staff, even on regular days when I use to stop in and get food for my guy they always were polite, friendly and spoke to you by name and asked how Bossman was doing - and they were afraid of him to boot - he was a freshy sometimes - so if anyone ever has to bring there pet somewhere and unfortunately at some point we do I highly recommend the South Boston Animal Hospital they are the Best...so thanks for everything guys and I will see you again soon - I plan on adopting 2 kittens - either brother and sister or 2 girls.... more

Dr. Natalie Waggener is a terrific vet. She's done everything for our 4 dogs from surgery to routine vaccinations. She has a wonderful demeanor, and I know she goes "above and beyond" on many occasions, delivering quality care for her patients. She's sweet and caring and our dogs absolutely love Dr. Natalie. She's hard to top! Her staff is also great, and this little animal hospital is worth going out of your way to visit. You and your pet will both be happy. more

I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Waggener and the South Boston Animal Hospital. I stumbled apon this site and just had to log in and take the time to write a review on their behalf. (She's that good) Dr. Waggener has been the most wonderful vet I have EVER come across. She is kind, gental, understanding, patient and kind. She is the South Boston Animal Hospital. Several years ago she left for a brief time and the hospital was not the same. I can't say enough about Dr. Waggener or her staff. Top notch! Excellent! You can trust your pets care to her. more

I bought a Dachshund puppy from a shady pet store in Lewisville, TX called Petland. DO NOT GO THERE. Dr Waggener helped bring Darla back to life. She had horrible kennel cough, coxcidia, and another type of worms. She spayed Darla yesterday and she is already feeling great. The entire staff is phenominal and they not only make you feel good about your pet, they make you completely comfortable with leaving your animal in their hands. I couldn't be happier with our vet. Moving to NYC in a few months and I will be so sad to say goodbye to the staff at SB Animal Hospital. Dr. Waggener, can you come to Brooklyn with me, Jake and Darla??? Pros: Super easy to get an appointment. SMall office so lots of individual attention. Cons: Our dog doesn't like leaving because she loves the whole staff. more

I have a nervous dog and Dr. Waggener does a great job treating him and keeping him calm and cooperative. Her "bedside manner" is great and she seems like she really cares about my dog's welfare. Parking has never been an issue for me (sorry South Boston Library!) and I've always been able to get appointments that are convienent to my schedule. I feel like my yorkie is in great hands and will continue to bring him to the South Boston Animal Hospital. Pros: Vet/staff more

I recently moved to South Boston with my boyfriend and our new puppy. I came upon the South Boston Animal Hospital and I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT! Dr. Waggener is so incredibly sweet, caring, etc. She gives great advice and never seems to be rushing you out to get to her next appointment at all. Not only is SBAH lucky to have her, but the technicians there are so sweet as well! Every time I walk in they completely spoil my pup, and I'm so pleased! They give him hugs, kisses, treats, etc and his tail is wagging the entire time. Pros: Dr. Waggener Cons: Street parking? Really- that's just nit-picking. more

Ok I just wanted to respond to the review made by Hkadsfj on here.I was in the hospital when he was in there with his dog that day and heard him say that he was going to post here and really give Dr Waggener a bad name. Ok well you know how they always say every story has two sides?Well here is my side.I was in the hospital that morning buying food and when I came in I was alarmed by a man's voice just yelling at someone as soon as I came in.Then I could hear a woman's voice calmly start to talk. From what I could get from the what was going on the in other room was that the gentleman's dog had tried to bite at the Dr while the exam was going on. In that case I am sure Dr Waggener tried to defend herself. So after this man just continues to verbally abuse her they came out of the exam room and he she asks him to leave.He is continuing to say that his dog never ever bites anyone.Ok again,I was there folks.He had a rather large white dog that must have weighed close to a 100lbs.And on the way out the door this dog that is never aggressive and would never bite anyone tried to eat two little dogs that were waiting for their appointments. He had to use all his strength to keep his dog from attacking them.Now this was a grown man having trouble handling a dog that never bites.If he has trouble handling his own dog how could he expext Dr Waggener to defend herself if he attacked her?Especially since he had the attitude that his dog could do no wrong.This dog was aggressive and the owner is in total denail about it. It's really sad that he has to come on here and bash her like that.It's a review like his that could sink a hospital and make her leave again and we would be stuck with all crappy vets again.Everytime Dr Waggener has seen any of my pets she has been just terrific, and so many of my friends in South Boston could say the same. She is a great great vet and we are lucky to have here in Southie. From my experiences she really does care about out pets!!!! Pros: Great Vet that really cares! Cons: None! more

Dr Natalie is THE BEST veterinarian I have ever gone too. I have followed her to practically every vet hospital that she has been at because I would and could never trust any other vet as much. I have since moved out of state, but still make special arrangements to drive from Connecticut just to see her. She's amazing -- I have never met a veterinarian with such genuine care for my cats and dogs. If you have a chance, visit Dr Waggener! more

I just left the South Boston Animal Hospital and will never go back. The vet/owner(a woman with short hair) has worked there for a while and has recently bought the place. I was not comfortable with her in the past but because the hospital is in southie, near my house I have continued to go there. This woman has the bed side manner of Kevorkian. She takes my boy and gives him a couple shots and he doesn't flinch. She then aggressively checks his ears while digging her thumb into his neck. I ask her to stop and she says I don't want him to bite me. I tell her I"ll hold him. She then grabs the skin on his neck and twists it while she checks his heart and he of course doesn't like that. If he didn't flinch during the shots, what makes her think he's going to bite her while she puts a stethoscope on him. I tell her to stop and she says I should stop accusing her of being aggressive. This lady is nuts. My dog likes everyone no matter what...I'm not the same way and will never go back...horrible! She's in it for the money and not the animals...no doubt! This is such a great place. I have been brining my pets to this hospital off and on for a long time. They would have a vet there that was ok for a while, then all of a sudden they would be gone. Then it seemed like there was a different vet there every day. So I just started going to Neponset. I was not that happy with them either. Then my cat was very sick and I brought him to South Boston Animal Hospital. I saw Dr Waggener. She was great. She was so attentive to my cat, even called me a few days later to see how he was doing. I brought him back in once he was better to get his vaccines and she was still there!! And I guess she is not going anywhere. I have heard from a friend of mine that goesthere also that she is buying the hospital!! I really hope this is true. It will be so great to have the same vet there all the time, and even better if it was her! more

Hey everyone. I just walked by the South Boston Animal Hospital and saw a sign in the window saying that Dr Natalie Waggener was coming back November 1st!! This is such great great news! She was the vet there about 2 years ago and without question she was the greatest vet that ever walked through the doors!! This is such terrific news for all pet owners in South Boston. It has been frustrating with all the different doctors that have been working there since she left, but the staff thankfully has made it a lot easier for me & my pets. I can't wait for her return! All of you that may have been aggravated with the hospital should honestly go up and bring your pet to Dr Waggener for their next visit. Trust me, will not be sorry you did! more

I love this place since I was 23 and had my first cat. I came in once and have been going since him. I have now 4 dogs and thats it but yes they all come to this vet and he is great. He has a love for these pets. They are a little on the expensive side but worth it for my pets. more

South Boston Animal Hospital was a life saver for our cat Smokey. Smokey had gotten hit by a car and her hip was popped out. The animal hospital and vets were great they made her comfortable and back in place. The Vets were very nice. Would definately recommend this animal hospital! more
