A Good lunch dig 12/3/2006

Souper Salad (near Southpoint Mall) is a good lunch place - when you want to get good food and move on. The buffet is a ""salad bar"", but includes pastas, various salads including casserole-type salads. Some of it is hot food. And the separate pizza buffet and soups, or special pasta combinations where you add alfredo or other sauce to the item, is also good. I don't think a lunch diner is likely to be dissappointed with Souper Salad. Pros: Good price, decent food Cons: Not a place to propose to your lover more

Great place to take the kids 4/22/2006

My husband doesn't like this place because he doesn't like buffets (food sitting out too long with people picking over it), but this is a great place to bring our 3 kids when they have the day off from school. My all-you-can-eat buffet (which includes soups, salads, potatoes, pizzas and soft ice cream) cost less than $6, and my children eat for even less (or free). If they don't like what they selected the first time, they can go back and get something else. Personally, I love the sweet potatoes to which I add lots of butter and brown sugar. The soft ice cream bar, with an assortment of toppings, can't be beat. Pros: inexpensive, family-friendly, selection more

a great lunch spot. However, in the past couple months it has gone down dramatically. The pasta salads were warm, the tuna salad - warm. And we all know that this isn't good. The quality of the food has dropped in the time I have been visiting. I don't think I will be returning for awhile. more

Can be healthy but... 7/26/2002

Souper Salad's draw is the all you can eat salad buffet but I strongly suspect diners are also drawn to the dessert section of the restaurant. The desserts on offer include ice cream and a big selection of toppings, fruit (fresh and canned), shortcake. There are several varieties of soup on offer daily as well as baked potatoes (sweet potatoes on my last visit). It's very popular so staff are constantly restocking the buffet so food is fresh. If you have or like kids, then go on Sundays. Since moving to the area, my husband & I must have eaten here at least six times. Pros: fresh, raw foods, lots of veggies, good value Cons: Sunday crowds, no fruit juice more

A Leafy Green Deal 6/17/2002

A more healthful lunch option in a sea of fast-food restaurants, Souper Salad, is a great lunchtime deal for folks who work in nearby RTP. The salad bar is the strong point as the soups--aside from the vegetable beef--often taste like they come from a mix. Be sure to try the gingerbread. more
