Terrible experience, do not use sound fx. They cut the carpet in my mercedes without asking and everything stopped working the next day. They wanted to charge me to remove the equipment that broke after they said it would work. bullsh!t more

Thanks to Steve who helped my wife and I design a spectacular home audio system. The surround sound system sounds amazing with the Def Techs, and the SI screen looks the same. I was skeptical about the Control 4 automation but now I am hooked. I want more! See you soon. more

I brought my 2012 TC Scion to get pimped out. I got a nav, supwoofer, amp, tinted windows, remote car starter, and alarm at a great price. Great customer service and good prices. My car looks and sounds awesome. Products were put in quickly. Everyone who's doesn't like the job they do, then go somewhere else, like best buy, good luck with that. A+++++ to Sound FX. more

I brought my Mercedes in for a repair for a rear radar sensor that I had done elsewhere several years ago. They ordered me a new one and I dropped my car off to have it done. When I picked it up they didn't charge me because it wasn't a defective part, rather just a bad connection. They could've just put the new part in and I would've never known the difference. Wish I could give 0 stars !!!! They scratched my car and service manager's facial expressions made my blood boil.... The old saying 1 happy customer will tell 5 people about their experience and a pissed off customer will 30 people... What a bunch of rookies !!!! more

Place is a complete joke. No customer service at all. Service manager mark was supposed to call me to resolve an issue, as I expected he never called me. This place has gone down the drain bad in the past 5 yrs!!! That's ok I'll repair my car on my dime even tho your installer is a hacker... more

I couldn't have been more dissatisfied. I wanted to get a Viper smartstart installed for my 2010 Acura TL along with an alarm. I told them I didn?t want a viper remote, and wanted to work everything with my smartphone or factory keyfob. Promises were made and not kept. After the initial installation, I had a list of issues ranging from the alarm going off when I opened my car door, to not being able to open my trunk. What topped it off for me was the error message I was getting on my Nav screen and dashboard, warning me that my car may not start the next time I attempt to start it. After messing with this issue for a day, the manager (Mark) from the Warwick RI location responded by saying that was informational, there was nothing to worry about and that it was normal behavior. He told me that no-one else has ever complained about it before. I explained that after paying over $800, I didn?t want to anything even close to an alert or error. I wanted everything perfect, which is why I went to them in the first place. I read some good reviews online (probably written by employees themselves) and decided to give it a try. I asked for a full refund since they didn?t deliver what they promised, Mark advised me that he would only offer refund for product and not labor. So I guess it was my fault that they couldn?t install viper components without error/alerts blaring on multiple screens in my car. I?ve obviously taken legal action; I just wanted to get this out there in case anyone else decided to check their review stats before actually going to them. The guys inside the shop were very polite, and it was obvious that they were just relaying the information from Mark. If you do decide to go with them, make sure you document everything, and ask them to document anything they do. more

This review is long overdue. I needed a remote starter for my car as it is parked outside in the winter and the ice on the windshield is a real pain to remove before heading into work. I also don't like driving a car that is freezing cold. When the temperature goes below 32 degrees I am not a happy camper. I did my research(got the viper automatic starter system) and found out that Sound FX was an authorized dealer. I stopped in one day and met Mark the manager. He answered all of my questions(I had a quite a few) in a courteous and professional manner. He has great customer service skills(his staff does as well) and is very easy to talk with. No high pressure tactics to make the purchase. I had the viper system installed in my car and love it. It works great. I liked it so much that we had Mark install one in my wife's vehicle also. One of my remotes that I carry on my key chain was having a problem and Mark resolved it immediately, no questions asked. The staff that Mark has at Sound FX are very knowledgeable and easy to talk with as well. The installers do a very neat and professional job. Sound FX is my place for all my remote starter and car alarm needs. They are the BEST! more

I was looking to get a remote start .so i was price shopping around and stopped in there store after i went to a couple of other shops .they had a really nice display of different remote starts after i spoke with one of there salesmen he took me over to there display and helped me pick out a remote start for my vehicle .they had everything in stock and i came back a couple days later to get it done on my day off .everything went smooth and i didnt have to loose a key .all the other places i went to told me they would have to hide a key in my car .i didnt like that idea .thanks guys more

Wow. They all of a sudden get TWO five star reviews on the same day - two days after I gave them 1 star and called them out on their poor work,service,and their shady business practice of installing used floor display speakers without notice or discount after charging for a brand new set. Two five star reviews on the same day on CitySearch when they still have LESS THAN 25 reviews all time ..... makes you wonder if these guys rushing to defend these hacks are actually on Sound FX's payroll !!!! I suppose that it's possible and that these are actual customers who,in that case,must have been dealing with a different installer or installers than the ones I got stuck with. However,it seems suspicious to me - real suspicious. ( One guy spends $ 6,500.00 on an audio system for a 1999 BMW ?!? It's the year 2011 - I hope that is not really true. ) Maybe he can spend $ 6,500 on audio equipment because the '99 BMW 540i is so great on conserving fuel $$ .... oh,wait ..... it's NOT .... quite far ( fa if you're from RI ) from it. They make me out to be the bad guy after all of the b.s. that they put me through. NOBODY in their right mind would be thrilled,to say the least,with the poor service and terrible work that I received. The guy wrote : "" believe me my friends have been to a few places recommended below by the customer who looks like he has nothing better to complain about in his life but 2 speakers ..... "" 1 ) Is the premise that I have "" nothing better to complain about in [my] life "" supposed to be a bad thing ???? This makes little to no sense. Additionally,a prominent buzzing noise coming from your car's front speaker(s) - first one side,then the other - is a pretty huge problem when it comes to car audio. Don't forget that they did not bother to put my car door back together correctly !!!!!! 2) Instead of being so vague by saying "" my friends have been to a few places recommended below "",how about mentioning the specific names of these car audio places so we can all go from there ???? Instead,this is UNFAIRLY casting a shadow over all four car audio places which I mentioned. To me,that is yet another red flag for a fake review by a Sound FX employee or owner. They are trying to ruin the name of four businesses instead of pointing out the specific ""few"" places. The bottom line is : Save your time,money,and car auto by not rolling the dice @ Sound FX West Warwick. I am just trying to do people a favor here with the warning. Now,do what you all choose. I went to Sound Fx for some new amps for my car. Not only did the sales staff know the product well but they helped get me into the right amp for my setup and in my budget. They even helped me out on the price of the amp that we selected. When they installed it everything came out perfect. I love the amp and will definitely be back for new subs and a pioneer touch screen deck soon. As for the other reviews on here. I don't know where your getting the idea that they are overpriced. They more than took care of the price for me. I will continue to shop at Sound Fx!!!! more

I'm reading the reviews , and I dont believe that we are talking about the same Sound FX on Quaker Lane .. I have nothing but good things to say .. I just recenly had a $6500 sound system installed in my 99 540i .And I tell you it was amazing . The quality of work and the caftsmanship was unbelivable .. and it was done in a timely fashion . This has been the only place that i have gotten work done and gotten what I paid for .. believe me my friends have been to a few places recomended below by the customer who looks like he has nothing better to complain about in his life but 2 speakers that he bought.. and those places did some really SCARY STUFF!!!. amps not done on amp boards just lying around , junk rca's and wire to keep there cost down while they charge you an arm and a leg .. im talking seriously bad .. all im saying is these guys are professionals and carry some really great lines of car audio . and they will walk with you evey step of the way to make sure you get what you really need to make the job right !!! more

I have dealt with Sound FX for GPS, Auto Start, and Alarm devices. No issues, great service. They know their business, and delivered on time and at the price quoted. I have also used them as a consultant for a home entertainment system and the advice and guidance was ""right on the money"". I would not hesitate to recommend them to anybody. more
