Sooner Wireless

Service is always shaky, so the business model is to blame the customer. The lead tech, Mike, is always curt and rude. Last year, an equipment upgrade was attempted in the spring, when winds are always high and unpredictable. This left customers without service for several days because the towers could not be scaled. Sooner Wireless claims to be a communication company, but can't figure out how to use text and emails to notify customers of outages, instead insisting on using Facebook. That's pathetic considering OG & has text and email options. The company's Internet site looks like it was assembled with freeware in an Intro to Web Development class back in the 90s. In 5+ years speeds have never matched what Sooner Wireless brags speeds will be after equipment upgrades. Service outages are frequent with DNS issues. The owner of the company is against the City of Norman developing Internet service as a utility to serve the rural areas, probably because anything else will be superior and (rightfully) run him out of business. The service is in the low MB range, while people in the Cox service areas are in the high GB range. One can either live rural and not have good Internet -- or -- have outstanding Internet and live in the civilized world. The only way rural areas will have comparable service and speeds is if cities build an infrastructure as a public utility akin to gas, electric, and landline telephone services. more

Wish we would have checked before we got them. Everyone with the same complaint. They are rude, have terrible customer service, expect you to communicate with the through Facebook (humm ... how do we do that when our internet is NOT working). They get a 5 star dumb.... award for service and customer care. more

Terrible customer service, terrible pricing, really shaky connection that is almost guaranteed to go down for a few hours every week randomly. If you have other options take them and save yourself the frustration. more

Their service is trash. We live out in the country NE of Norman and S of Choctaw. We pay for 10 mbps for an outrageous $155 per month, because we don't have any good options here other than their trash fixed wireless system. I can get 6 mbps sometimes, but often it's in the 2-3 range. If Cox ever expands out here this poor company will go out of business. I pray for that day. more

Worst internet I've ever had. Reaching the mbs/second I'm paying for is an almost nonexistent occasion and more often then not the speed is so slow even mundane tasks are out of question. more

More then 75% of the time you get a fourth of what you pay for and the Times that you do is only because it has just come back online after yet another problem they say is not there fault more

Possibly the slowest internet I've ever had to deal with, their internet claims to be suitable for gaming but a majority of the time I'm unable to even watch a video on YouTube in the lowest quality because it is so slow. more

My son loves the collection of "Oklahoma Sooners" accessories, as he is a huge OU fan, and I love them, as they are affordably priced. more
