If the server brings out your food to you, yes you tip. It does not have to be much, a dollar or two but if they bring you your food, you should give something, If you go inside...

Sonic Tipping 4/12/2006

No we do not tip the "delivery" people at Sonic. Do you tip the people behind the counter at Wendy's that go from the fry station to your hand? No, it's their job. Now if I am at a restaurant, YES tipping is the norm, but Sonic is fast food....and there is no way you are supposed to tip for fast food...it's not even fast food anymore...don't even get me started on that! more

Tipping at Sonic 4/12/2006

If the server brings out your food to you, yes you tip. It does not have to be much, a dollar or two but if they bring you your food, you should give something, If you go inside and get your food, there is no need to tip. The same theory applies when you get take out from a restaurant like Carrabas- if they bring you your food outside while you wait in your car- give them a dollar or two- not much. more

Awkward Location 4/11/2006

I don't usually visit this Sonic because it is in an odd location, and I also tend to forget that it's there. But, it offers a unique dining experience. Choose the drive-though or pull into a parking spot with your own personal menu board and 2-way ordering speaker. When your food is ready, a server will bring it out to your car for you. You can pay with cash or swipe your card at the menu board. more
