Sona Chaandi is located in Little India in Artesia and the store is hard to miss. It's one of the largest Sari stores in the neighborhood and they carry the most beautiful ones I've ever seen (Well, in America so far. I imagine in India there are far more beautiful ones). The have traditional saris as well as more modern silhouettes and other traditional Indian garb. The fabrics are amazing and everyone is so helpful. You can try on as many as you want in the dressing room in the back and the the staff will help you pick out colors and patterns. You can have it tailored to fit you as they employ seamstresses as well. I don't know how common the practice is in other Indian clothing stores but they were also willing to bargain the prices here. By far one of the more interesting and fun clothes shopping experiences for me. If you're looking for a Sari or want to try out other types of Indian style clothing, check this place out. more

I started going to Sona Chaandi years ago for eyebrow threading during my undergrad days, and I try to visit for a cleanup whenever I'm in the neighborhood. The payment process isn't confusing at all, and I haven't waited more than 10 minutes to be seated at a station. I've never had any issues with rude staff, bleeding or injury of any kind to my brow area. Though the staff may be quiet and not overly friendly, I've never felt that they were hostile in any way. But honestly, I believe it might just be a language barrier. It's tough to be chatty if English isn't your first language, so I'm not offended if I don't feel excessively pampered here. I come here for one reason only, and that's to have my brows cleaned up and artfully shaped-- not to be coddled. I've probably had my eyebrows done by every staff member, and each of them take their time and are meticulous when working on them. I always leave feeling happy with my brand new brows. One thing I feel is missing is just some aloe vera to soothe the area. I haven't bought any fabric or jewelry from the store, but I've browsed through it occasionally. They've even had celebrity customers such as Gwen Stefani and Freida Pinto. If I ever need beautiful and colorful fabric, I'll definitely visit them. If it's good enough for an A lister, then it's good enough for me! Don't forget to check in here for a $5 eyebrow threading! more

I've been here a couple of times and the ladies are all nice and I always walk out with VERY CLEAN EYEBROWS. I have NO COMPLAINTS about this salon at all though. I wouldn't mind coming back at all. more

Because this place seems to be a myriad of things from a jewelry shop to a clothes shop, I have to specify that I am rating their threading. Depending on whoever is doing your brows or how busy they are, this place isn't bad. The two times I've come here they've done my brows for 6 bucks and I loved what they've done. I appreciated that the lady who was doing my brows told me first what she was planning to do and asked my permission before threading away. The threading was nice and felt like a massage. So unlike my first threading experience (which was botched because the lady didn't know what she was doing). Overall it was quick and efficient. more

there are some jealous competitors out there who don't have the guts to even leave a name after giving negative reviews...for them ...eat your heart out as Sona Chaandi is numero uno,and will always be!!!!! more

This is one of the better Indian shops in “Little India.” It is not very crowded and is rather well organized. The store is kept well-maintained and is very clean. Parking is not that big of a problem because there is big lot that is shared with other stores in the plaza. I strongly recommend this store for Indian shoppers. more
