Absolutely one of the dirtiest kitchens I have ever worked. No hand washing, raw meat left in sinks for hours after which the sink goes uncleaned and vegetables are promptly dumped in for rinsing. All of the asian fare is prepped by the same person that stores the raw meats on the floor without being iced. Obviously rotten meats and vegetables used regularly.One morning it was discovered that the cooler was off all night and half of that day. I cringed as I was forced to use products temping well into the danger zone. ""Just cook it off"". \r \r The ""family"" that runs this place are crone like in appearance and even worse in demeanor as they manipulate their staff with threats and dehumanize them by treating everyone as an equally indentured second class citizen. \r \r Supporting this company is to support employee abuse and the use of food unfit for human consumption. \r \r You are also paying DOUBLE retail on food that qualifies as left overs. You have to reheat anyway. Why not just make the food yourselves. \r \r So, if you got sick now you know why.\r j more

I have tried several things from Something Special, and have not been disappointed at all. Their pies for thanksgiving, pastries, sandwich and cafe con leche, yummy! Oh!! and their cold pizza is the best!. more

Great food and really good service - Their prices are very low for the quality of food that they cater. I just moved to Nashville and a co-worker referred me to them for catering for large or small events. I was blown away by their selection of foods. The staff is friendly and professional as well. I would recommend Something Special to anybody in need of a small, medium or large catering event. I give them 5 stars!!! more

I called for info on this place because a friend recommended it to me. The reason I called was for their hours but mentioned to the woman who answered the phone that I had never heard of them before and asked if it was new. She yelled into the phone ""we've been on this same street for 30 years"" and hung up on me. I was amazed. Cons: Hung up on me more

They have a very good selection of specialty items and desserts and the food is very good. However, it is VERY pricey. Also the hours of operation might prevent you from stopping on your way home from work to pick something up for dinner. more
