I just turned in my keys today for somerset apartments. i lived there for a year so i started out with the old management and now its the ""new"" somerset apartments management. when i first moved in i was promised 3 different apartments before i was able to sign the lease. when i did come to sign the lease all of the info on it was incorrect. the items i reported that needed fixing in the apartment when i moved in still have not been fixed. the man below me played his music so loud (at all times) that it shook my floor. they lost one of my rent checks when i put it in the slot and charged me a late fee. i had to get proof that the check was cancelled from my bank for them to take off the late fee and i had to get certified funds because it was after the 5th. some one was shot in the building behind me. none of the pizza restaurants would deliver there after dark except papa johns because they'd been robbed so many times. two of the apartments on the 2nd floor with me were moved out of and no extermination was done by management so their insects started coming into my clean home. the pool and the fitness center had been closed up until the middle of this may. so we were not able to use it the whole year we lived there. finally we could move out of the worst living experience i ever had. we cleaned the apartment after moving out and i returned the keys today. i was told i would receive my $200 security deposit back after the walkthrough. i asked what about the $300 pet deposit and was advised it was a fee not a deposit but in my lease it says it is a ""general security deposit"". No where in my lease does it say it is non-refundable. at the end of my signed lease it says additional materials include a pet addendum, which i never received. they showed me an unattached page with no signature on it titled pet addendum and among the info on the page it says non-refundable pet deposit. however there is NO SIGNATURE on it so they could have just typed it up and printed that out. small claims court would cost more than the $300 i would get back so i get screwed out of my money by the ""new"" somerset apartments. i wouldnt recommend this as a home to my worst enemy.
Cons: EVERYTHING
