Just Average 8/30/2002

Any burger fried fried to order is going to be decent, but these are by no means great burgers. The patties seem to be standard fast food/commercial patties and the accoutrements sparse. Sort of like an upscale White Castle. The fresh made banana shake was very good, though. Worth eating at if you're nearby, and the homey waitresses are good, but nothing special really. more

Best Burger in the World!!! 8/11/2002

Solly's has been around for more than 50 years and recently rennovated after a forced move of 100 yards. the word butter features prominently in its burgers both on the toasted buns and in the cooked onions (they do not saute at Solly's). burgers for the burbs 8/8/2002

I have been going to Solly's for more years than I care to remember. 1/10 of a pound of pure ground sirloin soaked in pure 100% unadulterated butter on a hard roll!!! mmmmm..it can't be beat. And also, the greatest chocolate shakes and malts anywhere. Kopps shakes and malts are terrific, but Solly's are #1. more

You've got to be kidding fits this perfectly. If this is one of the best Milwaukee has to offer, Milwaukee is in trouble. Burgers are mediocre at best. Overly expensive. The fries were only half edible due to overcrispy (brown to dark brown). How this got to be rated so high baffles me. Disappointing sums it up. more
