WORST REPAIR COMPANY IN THE AREA, DON'T CALL THEM 5/13/2011

This is the worst appliance repair company that I have had to deal with. The service technician showed up the first time, diagnosed the problem, wrote me a repair labor estimate (parts were a warranty item) and scheduled a second visit to install the parts they thought they needed. As it turned out they made 5 attempts to repair the dishwasher over a 4 month period, during which time my dishwasher was unusable. It turns out that the parts they were changing were not all that was wrong. They would have found the problem if they had bothered to use a cheap multi-meter. The technician was using a pocket knife and a screw gun to try and fix my machine. I was so frustrated with Solar, and complained so much to Whirlpool, that Whirlpool offered to cover the entire repair as a warranty. Whirlpool arranged for A&E to repair the dishwasher and it only took A&E 1 trip to figure out what the problem was and 1 trip to install the parts. Solar not only jerked me around, lost my file, made me take off work 5 times while they played around, but have so far refused to return calls. I will be filing a complaint with the BBB. They should NOT be allowed in your home!!!!!!!! more

UNRELAIBLE AND NO CUSTOMER SERVICE AT ALL 2/22/2011

I wish I would have read these reviews first - they are all absolutely correct! Have an extended warranty on a GE washer purchased from Lowes 3 years ago. Solar Refrigeration was the Co. Lowes sent out to repair it. After 4 visits and 3 weeks of not being able to do laundry, machine was not fixed. Enough was enough - threw out old washer and bought a new Sears Kenmore. Had 4 scheduled appointments for repair - they NEVER called to confirm any time - even though I called daily and told them that I needed to put in leave at work before I could take it. Still not one individual ever called to ask what was a good time, never called to confirm a time and on 3 occasions were at least 4 hours late or DID NOT SHOW UP or call at all. The last phone call was the manager, Ms. Caruso assuring me that her top repairman would be at my house at 7:00am on a Friday. Well guess what, did not show up at 7, or at 8, or at 9 - even though she personally told me and guaranteed he would show. NEVER AGAIN! BEWARE ! There a four different locations listed for this company - I just called them and they are ALL the same business. I had to give them 1 star because these is no 0 star to rate them by! more

The Worst! 2/9/2011

They never show up when they say they will, if at all! I have had three appointments with them and they have shown up for 1. The one time they came was only because I called them the day before and at the end of the time frame they said they were coming. Incredibly frustrating and unprofessional. Also, after showing up and determining the part I needed, they never called back to set up a time to come put it in. I had to call and they acted like this was normal. At the moment, it is 5:20 and they were supposed to be here between 2 and 5:00. Their office is closed and their answering machine states that they will not listen to any messages left. Wow. more

Rude and Uncooperative 9/7/2010

For 12 years I have been compelled to use this company to repair certain large kitchen designer appliances, even though they were expensive, because I knew of no other company that does it in New Orleans, but no more. A year ago Solar (after I spent lots of money with them post Katrina having my one of my appliances completely rebuilt) they came back to check out why the freezer wasn't working properly, they charged me a service charge and ordered an expensive part on my credit card. I learned that I was going to be gone for a year (post Katrina issues) and could not find a time when they could come to install it. I expressly remember advising a lady on the phone that I would only be in for a couple of days during New Years and otherwise might not be able to schedule until when I returned. I was assured I could have it fixed when I returned. I was never told the part would be thown away after 30 days. I talked with them more than once. more
