We just purchased our first home in Portland. Being first time buyers, we relayed on our realtor for a referral when, as part of inspection, we found that the sewer line needed to be replaced.
Soil Solution came out same day to give us a bid (over 4K), but that was the last time they were prompt. They finished the job a week after we were suppose to close on the house (2 weeks late), they waited another week to replace the sidewalk they tore up. Once they ""finished"" we noticed they had cut thru our new sprinkler system. They didn't notify anyone, so the next time the system turn on, it flooded our side yard.
We called soil solutions back to ask them to come fix the line. They told us the project manager would call us back. After a week of waiting, and two more phone calls requesting someone come fix the broken pipe, we finally gave up and had our realtor call the owner ""Tony"". Tony called my wife and told her that they did not break the line, and ""even if they did, it's not their responsibility"" I ended speaking with Tony and he yelling at me and, after I told him I was going to send a letter to numerous business rating organizations, he hung up on me.
The fix for the broken pipe cost less then 5 dollars, and took no more than 10 minutes. The grief that would have been saved if they would have: 1. Informed someone they broke the pipe, or 2. fixed the damage they caused, would have saved them a very unhappy customer that will never use them again, and the poor review I will end up posting anywhere I see reviews.
Beware! When spending four thousand dollars, I'd would have expected at least a little customer service, or at least to NOT be yelled at..
(BTW: I would have given them zero stars, but the site requires at least one )
Cons: Did not finish on time, broke our sprinkler system, etc..
