Soho Salon & Studio

Went after work and was afraid to go to a salon and not a barber but i have to say one of the best hair cuts ive ever had. The girls made me feel right at home. I will continue going there from now on. more

Dear Dissatisfied, I am sorry to hear that you had a bad day. I do not for one minute think this salon is sloppy or unclean. I personally have been going there for the last 6 years and will not venture to any other salon unless my stylist moves. I think you may have just been having an off day yourself or you weren't specific enough in what you wanted. I never have ever had a problem with getting what I want out of my visit to SoHo. I too had my hair and makeup done for my wedding and it was done all professionaly and quickly. I hope to see you give SoHo another chance to reform your opinion. BTW did you write a raving review for Bravo because in looking I didn't see any rave reviews. Good luck on your next venture with your hair at where ever you may end up getting it done. As for me, SoHo will be the only one I will ever go to. more

My husband and I got married in Destin in September 2011. I got my hair and makeup done at Soho Salon & Studio. I was a little concerned before arriving because all I had to go off of were online reviews basically; however, I was very happy with my decision. My hair was done exactly how I asked with little guidance from pictures. The stylist made sure that I was pleased with my appearance. Also, my makeup was phenomenally perfect. They use an airbrush to apply foundation, and it was flawless. I wanted to still look like myself, just a LITTLE enhanced - my normal routine is moisturizer, minimal eyeliner, mascara, a quick smear of powder & that's all. She did a GREAT job of making me look beautiful without making me look too ""done up."" Again, I was VERY pleased with my experience at the salon & I would recommend them as an option for wedding hair and makeup to any brides planning a destination wedding. more

So sorry your visit was not up to your expectations. And I was a customer on the day of your appointment, so I overheard what was going on throughout the entire appointment. And I was taken aback by your mannerisms, actuallly. I have had my hair done at SoHo for years and have never had a complaint. And when I have brought in a picture I have always explained what I DO and DO NOT like about the picture. And there have been times before I went to soho that I wasn't happy with my services, but when My Expectations were not met, and someone offered to fix it for me was I never as rude as you were!! And of course your second appointment was great because you gave your stylist enough detail about what you wanted and didn't want on your second visit, unlike your first appointment, because I was getting a haircut 1 chair away from you, and when your stylist was trying to get details about what you did and didn't like you kept referring back to the picture more than telling her the parts and pieces you did and did not like. And like the person before me said, not every stylist is right for every person, so glad you found the right one for you. more

Dear Dissatisfied Consumer, It sounds like you had quite a day! ** Just Curious, did you take as much time to max out the character space on Bravo's Review sight with a positive review or did you wear your little piggies out reliving this horrible event in great detail over again at the expense of your keyboard and not have time after? Listen, I'm just saying as a business owner and as someone who happens to know the owners of Soho, I know for a fact the event that you went through is not typical. For if it were, they would not have been in business for as long as they have been, nominated as Best of The Emerald Coast and so-on. People have bad days. It happens. To everyone. Even you, obviously this was one of these days; along with the stylist. Not EVERY stylist is right for EVERY person, heck I have ONE person who I goto for COLOR and another person I goto who cuts/styles my hair. (Some are better at one thing than another, or better/more affordable, etc...) From one person who has had an AWEFUL experience with a salon to another, please rethink your words before you write them. Some people have families to feed, and only one way to do so. This place is a complete dump! The salon was not clean. Hair was found all over the floor. The brushes was infested with gobs of hair. I brought a photo of how I envisioned my hair. The stylist/colorist proceeded to section my hair and color the crown one shade and gathered huge chunks on each side, teased the hair and lightened the ends and the back of my hair was left untouched. My hair was light brown with high lights and low lights when I initially came in. I expected my hair to be warm shades of red tones with minimal soft high lights that appeared to painted in a few areas to give a natural look. I ended up a deep dark brown almost black on the crown, huge chunks of blonde on each side. The blondes were three different shades and very brassy looking. The dark color was very dull and even had a green tone. After she shampooed my hair while my hair was wet I could tell my hair was *ucked up. She immediately took the nasty round brush and tried to blow dry my hair......duh hard to do when my hair is soaking wet. Why not take a wide tooth comb dry the hair first then smooth the hair with a round brush while blow drying or smooth via flat iron. After thirty minutes of her tugging at my hair, my hair still was not dry. I finally suggested I dry my own hair. My hair was dried in two minutes once I took over. When she lifted my hair to cut it she was not even cutting the hair in a straight line. I finally told her not only did my hair look nothing like the photo it looked horrible. She offered to try a different color to try and fix it, however my thoughts were if this is the end result when I bring you a photo, and you do not have the skills to dry my hair and you do not cut in straight lines when called for uhhh hell no! Do not allow any persons here do your hair. I had my hair redone at Bravo. It turned out wonderful. The stylist at bravo colored and recut my hair and their thoughts were the same when it came to how my hair was cut and colored so I was by no means being picky. It was such a crazy horrible experience, I really thought I was getting punked. Go to Bravo. Stay the hell away from So Ho. I almost forgot the stylist at So Ho could not pronounce or spell the product line they use. I should have backed out at that point. more

The salon is beautiful and cozy. The staff is very talented and friendly! I love that they have a photography studio! I highly recommend trying this salon! Pros: Everything more
