I've been taking dance lessons at SHDA for over a year now and I can only say the experience has been truly amazing. The staff is friendly and engaging, and very skilled at teaching not only the steps of the dance (foxtrot, waltz, etc) but more importantly, the feel of the dance. Dance isn't meant to be a rigid series of steps, which is what I've felt like at other places, it's meant to be a flowing movement to music with a partner. I can honestly say that before I walked in I couldn't tell a waltz song from rumba or Quickstep. Knowing the difference and knowing the steps has really boosted my confidence, and I am comfortable leading a girl to dance at weddings and other social gatherings. more

Do not come here for Private Lessons 11/19/2011

If you are just signing up for a few group beginner lessons, then fine. I've been there, its OK. If you are an engaged couple (most of the school's clientele), then I guess you get a good deal. My daughters didnt really care for this place. One is 5 and the other is 7. They came home and decided they would like to try somewhere else. They liked the staff but just didnt care if they went back or not. more

Best dance studio in town 10/19/2005

A friend of mine recommended the studio to me last year as the "best dance studio" in town. I have to agree. I love this place. I do not have enough good things to say about it; excellent teachers, beautiful space, friendly staff; great music. I took several group classes (salsa, tango, etc) and the space was more than adequate for our purposes. Especially compared to other studios in town, the space could be considered "huge":) The prices are cheaper as well. There are classes for Singles; for kids, for wedding couples, in addition to general group classes-even hip hop and tap (my favorite) The only minus I can think of is that dancing is addictive:) Pros: Fun, Fun, Fun more

amazing place! 10/18/2005

We came in unsure of what to expect. Being new to dance, we were nervous, but our wonderful instructor put us at ease. We learned so much & had such fun in our first lesson that we decided to come back every week! The space is beautiful and Shana made us feel so welcome! Pros: friendly staff, beautiful space more
