Editorial review from Citysearch 3/11/2014

To all those that have viewed the negative posts below, this is the day we live in. Times have changed with social media. It seems sometimes that those with a gripe seem to post negative comments. When dealing with tens of thousands of customers a year, any business will have a disgruntled patron at some time. It cannot be helped regardless of how hard one tries. Some of the comments below are personal in nature and no way reflect the influence XL has had on many children the last seven years. The leagues and programs are full and we take great pride in that. Let the haters hate. It's part of doing business. You simply cannot make everyone happy. more

Take Your Money Elsewhere 11/16/2011

I will start by saying I only gave it one star because I couldn't give it zero. I also have played many seasons at XL Soccer World, hoping things had changed, but always with the same result. This is absolutely, without question, the worst indoor soccer facility I have ever had the misfortune of stepping into for the purpose of adult recreational leagues. It is insanely overpriced and even more poorly managed and controlled. You pay a large fee to play co-ed rec league soccer to get a little competitive exercise during the week among who you thought were your peers, and you end up playing against the XL Soccer World staff who, for some reason, gets their pleasure playing rec level players. These players are allowed to play on seemingly any team they want, whenever they want, and when they start fights, which is often, they are encouraged and then protected, including when a grown man hits a female in the face. When asked to rectify the situation the owner simply laughed. The best advice I can give you is take your hard earned money and play at one of the many other facilities in the area. I know that I will, and hopefully my review can somehow help prevent others from wasting their cash on this dump. more

XL soccer world is a XL joke 9/10/2007

I agree. This place is not soccer dome but now XL Soccer world with XL marketing fluff! There are no qualified coaches in sight. No matter how many improvements you make to the building does not counter inadequate and rude staff. The owner of Xl is Richard King from Soccer Dome. So much for physical fitness. A rude overweight slob smoking cigarettes at the front door, to be greeted by a foreign language wonderland of employees who could barely communicate with me. I will tell all my friends to run the XL out of there! Pros: toilet paper was in stock Cons: inadequate rude staff more

Exhaust all other options first..... esp. with younger kids.... 8/3/2007

The other reviews for this facility are old, it has changed leadership and now is XL Soccer. This place is unorganized, unclean, and lacks adequate supervision for younger children. I had my son in a 1-week camp this summer. Firstly, even after I had prepaid months in advance, the current management made us pay again when we arrived, and gave us a number to request a refund from ""SoccerDome"". This took much effort to retrieve our initial payment for refund, what an inconvenience! As for operations, unorganized pretty much says it all. We had a different camp leader for the younger group every day, I know one was probably 13-15. It was like a kid taking care of a bunch of little kids. Unclean? As stated in another review, desperately needs to be cleaned and renovated (which they seemed to be making slow progress with to some degree, but there's just way too much to be done). Supervision? My perception every day was that my child could have walked out the front door and down Hillsborough and no one would have known he was gone. Now I am not above mentioning the positives. The main manager, and another man who seemed to the the lead coach, were extremely personable and probably know quite a bit about playing soccer. My child also seemed to have a good time (one week of unorganized independence would be fun for any 6 y.o.). But that's where I draw the line on positives. They obviously have an athlete trying to run this business. Sorry XL Soccer, but we'll search for alternatives next time. Pros: Inexpensive, some of the staff are qualified to teach soccer Cons: Unorganized, unclean, lack of good supervision more

ok for winter 2/17/2007

Soccer is good, but this place needs a face lift. I understnad soccer is an international sport, but they need more people who speak ENGLISH in there! Pros: good soccer Cons: needs a face lift and staff that speaks ENGLISH! more

Mike Moltzon Coaching 11/19/2006

Great indoor coach, but u should c him outside (goldstar soccer club) he is the head coach. impressively friendly to parents and players from different leagues; an elite coach with a great coaching staff more

Mike Moltzon's ATP Program 3/20/2006

Agreed with above comment. If you can Mike Moltzon for a training session do so! Extreemly talented. My son learned more from his 1 season of indoor ATP with Mike Moltzon, than he did 4 years of playing challenge soccer. His indoor soccer groups with outdoor Goldstar Soccer clubs outdoor training. Excellent. Pros: staff, Director of Coaching, inexpensive Cons: mirror in bathroom more

AWESOME! 12/6/2005

The training at this place is unbelieveable! Director Mike Moltzon has an amazing gift for the game and teaching of soccer. It is nice to be able to train when weather is bad, and catch extra games during outdoor season. Pros: Inexpensive, Excellent Traininers, Mike Moltzon Cons: more parking more

Best Vaule for Soccer in the Triangle!! 6/6/2005
