My wife and I decided to get a new member to the family. The new member ended up being members because the wife loved both of them. Two puggles and I can't say anything but good...

My husband and I and our buddy Suse (boxer) had just recently lost our buddy Jake (boxer) of 8.5 years, totally unexpected. We were heart broken. So we grieved and then started a search for a new buddy. After a long and arduous search we came across Soares Farm Kennel on the Breeders Club website. We decided we wanted the last puppy he had from a litter of English Bulldogs. \r So Suse and I started out from Leeds Maine at 2:30 PM on a very cold day to get supplies, car harness, collar, chew toys, etc... picked my husband up at work at 4:30 and headed for a 3 hour trip to South Easton, MA. We were anxious to say the least. We had read reviews, some good, some bad. \r When we arrived we called Kurt and he came out to meet us. Very nice home and very nice person. He lives at end of road with a very large plot of land. There is a very long dirt drive way to kennels that is all gated off and locked. The kennel was a well built building like a home with windows etc... I stayed in the car with Suse while he took my husband in to get the puppy. When they returned with the healthiest little fat bulldog I was relieved. \r Kurt gave us the rest of the bag of puppy food to help with the transition to the food we feed Suse who has major allergies. He also told us about some holistic medicine that helps with the antibodies that Suse is missing and probably the reason for allergies. He had been through all the shots and such which did not work and Kurt said he tries to do the holistic approach. A man after our own hearts for we are very ""Organic"" folks. \r On the ride home Craig proceeded to tell me how clean the kennels were and not smelly and nice and heated and very well maintained. It has not been 24 hours but so far this little guy did the 3.5 hr ride home and slept through the night and is very well adjusted. Not timid or any separation anxiety. So I believe the dogs are very well cared for. Lets face it breeding is no different then farming or raising of any animal, there are good farms and there are badly cared for ones. This dog ""farm"" is a great one! Who knows we may go back for another little buddy. Welcome to your ""furever"" home Stig! more

About 7 years ago we purchased a lab/Bull mastiff mix from Soares Farm Kennels and she was the most beautiful dog you could ask for. She was a great protector and loved to play. We had to put her to sleep at the age of 5 due to a freak injury, a torn tendon in her leg. We loved her so much we went back to Soares Farm to purchase another dog. We got a lab/golden mix and he is now 1 1/2 years old. He also is a great dog, loves to play, is extremely gentle and intelligent. We are in the market for another dog and will be going back to Soares Farm. more

I purchased a male golden doodle 5 years ago from Soares Farm. Finn was healthy, friendly, happy and a pleasure. Finn was loved so much in the neighborhood that 2 neighbors also bought goldendoodles from Soares Farm - they are 4 years old now and healthy. When Finn was 2 yrs. old he developed canine epilepsy and has been on drugs ever since - class A narcotics. I inquired with Kurt if any other owners who purchased golden doodles from him informed him of epilepsy in their dogs. I also asked him who the sire and bitch were for my dog and both neighbors dogs. He doesn't keep any records and all three of us looked at the papers we received from him when the dogs were bought - no names whatsoever of the mother & father.\r I would not purchase a dog from him again - not because of my dog's illness, but because of his sloppy/none existent record keeping. F1 Doodles should have a pedigree history from both of their parents and be registered with the AKC. That way you are assured that your doodle is first generation - which are supposed to be the healthiest. I was told by Kurt that Finn was a F1, yet he could not provide any documentation, which leads me to believe Finn's parents were mixed breeds and not a pure bred poodle and golden retriever. There are so many other reputable breeders of these dogs who can provide valid documentation. more

One of thee best dogs 2/8/2012

Last year, i hada dog pass and couldnt handle not having a dog around. I went out and bought a yellow lab and she had some severe attachment issues. about 3 weeks after owning her, my family decided to go and look for another puppy for the first to play with. i looked around and found this place, its a little sketchy going to see the dogs, but the dogs are very well taken care of and we ended up buying a half lab half golden and absolutly love him! He is one of thee most mellow and loving dogs, we could not be happy with the puppy we brought home over a year ago. I highly reccomond looking this place. more

Good place, but slightly disappointed. 11/3/2011

Bought my wonderful puggle from Kurt on around the end of September 2011. I was told he was 12 weeks old, and I didn't mind getting a puppy that was a little older than the 8 week normal pick up. My first thought was that he looked slightly big, but I've never owned a puggle before so I assumed they were fast growers. My little boy just had his second vet appointment today (11/3/2011). The vet was very confused when he saw him, as my little guy already had all of his adult teeth. I assumed he was teething since he likes to chew on everything, but apparently he's had his adult teeth all along! Now, this isn't such a big deal, except that it means that his supposed birthday (Kurt said 6/23/2011) was actually quite a bit earlier than that. Instead of getting a dog that I was told was 12 weeks old (3 months), the vet expects that he was around 4 1/2 - 5 MONTHS OLD when I picked him up. I thought his current age was about 4 months but the vet said its closer to 6 or 6 1/2 months. He is perfectly healthy however, which is the most important. He's a great dog with a very good temperament and I'm absolutely glad I bought him but this whole age mix up has got me slightly concerned that other lies were told. If I had looked at the teeth (like I should have) when I had went to pick him up, I would have been able to tell that they were his adult teeth and that his age was not correct, so it is partially my fault. Just be very educated before buying a puppy and know what to look for when you're picking him/her up! Pretty disappointed that I was lied to. more

ONE HUNDRED!! 3/3/2011

A year ago my boyfriend and i bought my wonderful 1 year old puppy from Soares Farm. She hasn't had any medical problems at all and is still very healthy. She is one of the most well behaved dogs i have ever seen throughout my whole life. She is a Border Colie mix. She is very smart, funny and cute. And we are shortly going back to get another border colie mix puppy very soon. I highly recommend them. more
