Perfect atmosphere for a ""nice"" dinner 10/16/2009

This place has a terrific ""feel"" to it. It's warm, it's clean, and it's positive all-around. Snake Creek Grill has the capability of being either intimate or casual, depending on your mood or your company. The food was excellent, and the service was high above average. The fact that it's tucked away in Heber Valley only adds to the ambiance. We will definitely suggest this restaurant to friends, family, and strangers alike- as well as return again for a wonderful dining experience. Pros: Good energy more

Best Food in Utah 1/15/2009

My favorite Utah restaurant! There just aren't that many places that make food that is to die for. This is one of the few. Their signature halibut is unbelievable. The spinach salad is the best I've ever had, and I've had plenty. The black bottom banana cream and the gingerbread cookies with homemade cinnamon ice cream always compete for my dessert affections. I've been several times--it's a 40 minute drive for us--and I've never been disappointed. The staff is loyal and attentive. The atmosphere is eclectic and comfortable, never stuffy. I LOVE this place. You must try it! Pros: everything Cons: nothing more

Well Worth the Drive to Heber City! 7/4/2006

In my opinion the best food you'll find in Utah, period. As good as any restuarant in Park City, without the Park City attitude. Perhaps not the most romantic setting on a busy night, but the fact that you know about a fabulous restaurant tucked away in little old Heber City will make you seem like a real insider. Your date will be impressed. Pros: Great food, good service, fun atmosphere. Cons: the drive, but it's totally worth it! more

My favorite restaurant, period. Subtle, surprising combinations of flavors. Deserts to die for. Friendly, attentive service. You can spend a lot more for a meal, but you won't get a better one. Pros: Food, service, ambience Cons: None to speak of more

Good, but far from the best... 5/14/2006

Snake Creek has at leat one thing that will keep us returning - the Gingerbread cookie sandwich. I'm not normally a fan of Gingerbread, but this is someting special. Warm soft cookies envelop normal vanilla ice cream with a slightly bitter (just the way it should be) caramel sauce for dipping. Other than that ... the halibut lacked flavor and was a bit dry. The sides were standard fare. I wouldn't necessarily consider this fine dining, but it is a lovely experience overall. I would go back but I certainly don't crave anything besides the gingerbread sandwich. Pros: Gingerbread, Ice Cream, Sandwich Cons: Loud, inconsistent, overpriced more

Fresh comfort food from scratch--I love it! 2/4/2006

I often travel from Ohio to Utah in the summer, and Snake Creek Grill has become a ""must"" stop on my trip, despite being tucked away in Heber City. Its innovative blend of ingredients and creative preparations surprises and delights me every time. Think shrimp skewers on a bed of fresh shredded carrots and jicama withe avocado creme; or blue-corn crusted rainbow trout, or elegant tenderlorn of pork in Madeira with mixed mushrooms; or, when I'm HUNGRY, Belle Isle barbequed ribs with a side of calypso beans. And the world's best dessert--gingerbread ice-cream sandwich with caramel sauce. It's so good I'd like to keep SCG a secret--but it IS worth a trip! more

Big let down 12/23/2005

The high reviews brought us there for dinner. The food was bland, and kids menu had only two choices. Fresh fish of the day was like fresh frozen and dry. This is the place we go when we want comfort food. And every time we takle new guests they are amazed at the place. Barb is a superb chef and never disapoints. Even my kids ( who only eat burgers) love this place. Pros: Trout, service more

Most Excellent 7/11/2004

All I have to say is that Barb Hill is a virtuoso of the culinary arts. As a local, Snake Creek Grill is my favorite resaraunt by far. I have never left without a full and satisfied stomach. I highly recommend the ribs, the black bottom banana cream pie, and the lemonade in the summer. Excellent. Pros: Food, Service, Everything more

This place is amazing! 10/3/2003

My husband and I have been saying that we have wanted to go here for quite some time now and we finally made it last night. AMAZING! Everything we had was so good that I just wanted to eat more and more! We had the corn cakes and a butternut squash soup for appetizers, the baby back ribs and the jamaican pork medallions for the entrees, and the gingersnap ice cream with caramel for dessert. The flavors were excellent, the service was excellent, the portions were just right, and the price seemed very reasonable compared to other restaurants in Park City. We will definitely be back again and again and again! I can't say enough good things about this place! Pros: FANTASTIC Food, Great Service, Great Price Cons: None! more

Top Notch 7/9/2003

My family and I have been going to Snake Creek for maybe four years now and it has been a consistently wonderful dining experience every time. The servers are attentive and friendly and the food is unique and rich in flavor and content. I have recommended this establishment to many friends who have visited Park City over the years, and everyone has come back raving. I am from Chicago where there is a bevy of world-class restaurants to choose from and if this eatery were in the city, it would rate at the top. more

Interesting 12/29/2002

I expected more. I was taking my wife out for a special evening and it was supposed to be romantic, it's not. The food was awesome, location cute, but very noisy and ""unromantic"". The service was impressive and the food impeccable. The cheesy little lamp does not make the ""Valentine"" table romantic. Corn cakes are a must. My family has vacationed to Utah for the past 15 years and every trip we take, we attempt to do new things, however snake creek is one exception to that rule. It isn't a family vacation for us without going to snake creek grill. Pros: GREAT variety of food, good private setting Cons: not advertised enough more

this place rocks 6/24/2002

After golfing a Wasatch last week, we stumbled upon this little gem of a restaurant. Located in what appears to be a ghost town, the banner proclaiming that it won a Salt Lake Magazine award for Best Restaurant, piqued my interest. Once inside, we were captivated by it's charm. After hearing the extensive ""specials list"", we were at a loss what to order. The four of us each had something different and they were equally good (get the Halibut if it's the special). The server said that the Chef makes everything from scratch and you could certainly tell. Food is as good as I've had anywhere, service was professional without being stuffy. Call ahead, the place was jammed the whole time that we were there. Pros: best food we've had, great prices, comforting ambience more
