Smoky Mtn Deer Farm & Exotic Petting Zoo

I have visited this zoo three times now. I took my child when she was about nine and then when she was twelve and now she is sixteen and she never gets tired of the place. You can walk around and see all the animals. You can also feed some of the animals. They have a pony there as well that you can put your child on and walk them around a coral. That was great. The cost is moderate at $7.50 and $4.50 for kids. They have a web site you can go to and check out the times they are open and get directions. The directions are very easy and there is plenty of parking. The ground is dirt not pavement. I love to be able to reach out and touch different animals. You were able to feed most animals as well as touch them. My daughter played with not just deer but goats and saw baby pigs. You can buy the food to feed them because they don't want you feeding them the wrong thing, that might make the animals sick. It is a small place but my family enjoyed playing with the animals so much that we were there for hours. The zoo is listed as the Largest zoological park in a 140 acre natural habitat. Next to the farm is a riding stables so you can play with exotic animals and then go horse back riding for fun. Check for coupon in the smoky mountain navigator. They always publish at leas one coupon on the Deer Farm. So if you are planning a trip to Tennessee make sure this Deer Farm is on your list to visit. This is an unexpected and interesting place to visit. They have everything from deer to reptiles ( although not many ). They had lamas and spitting camels when we went, and other unusual animals. They also have a small area where kids could ride little horses for a fee. They do also have a gift shop. more

This petting zoo includes a variety of goats, tame deer, beautiful reindeer, zebras, monkeys, cows, camels (both single and double hump), ostriches, kangaroos and much, much more. You can hand feed grain to the animals, mingle with them & pet them. This is the perfect place for children who love animals, they can get hands on with tame, otherwise wild, animals that they wouldn't normally encounter. Not only is it fun to interact with the animals it is also educational for children who have never seen these types of animals before. Admission is very affordable and because this is an out of the way petting zoo & deer farm not many people know about it. more
