Best

We were new to the area, and our old vet retired. Our 16 1/2 year old dog Abby was pretty ill and we did make the dreaded decision to go ahead and euthanasie her since her quality...

Worst

I have been a client of Smoky Hill Vet clinic for over 13 years. I have had 2 cats and 5 dogs taken care of over the years. The problem isn't the care they receive, the problem is...

Care is faltering 9/17/2007

I have been going to Smoky Hill Vet Clinic for 12 years, but I've decided to switch. I never know who's going to see my cats because the vet turnover is so bad there. Plus, I've had to go back for the same problem over and over again before they figured out what was the matter. There was a woman doctor that was there for a few years and she was. She left a year or 2 ago and I dont know why. They've also gotten more expensive recently. I don't mind paying more if it means my cats will get good care, but thats not happening. more

These guys are great 9/14/2007

We are first time pet owners, and the new parents to two dachshund puppies. The people at Smoky Hill Clinic not only made us feel comfortable with the whole process, but our dogs love them too! We would go back any time this clinic. We have been multiple times for puppy checkups and plan on making this clinic our first choice for future visits. more

Adequate for the basics and that's it 8/10/2007

I've used Smoky Hill Vet Clinic for quite some time and for the basics like vaccinations, spay and neuter, heartworm testing and medication they are great, but if your dog or cat is sick and it isn't absolutely obvious what is wrong, go somewhere else. I have decided to leave the clinic after they repeatedly misdiagnosed or failed to diagnose potentially life threatening conditions in my dogs. In virtually every case, I have dropped several hundred at Smoky Hill only to have to go to Alameda East or the VRCC in the end to get my dog diagnosed properly and cured. Don't get me wrong, I do think the vets at Smoky Hill are caring - they just tend to be inexperienced (the best ones have tended to leave after 6 months to a year) and not have access to necessary diagnostic equipment. Dr. Mueller who owns the clinic is quite nice and experienced but he is almost always on-call seeing horses outside the clinic. Pros: Good for vaccines and basic care Cons: Relatively inexperienced vets, high turnover of vets and office staff more
