I couldn't disagree more with Smithtown Mom. My children have been going here for over 7 years and I couldn't be happier. Although there are a few doctors I will not see, for th...

Care directly related to the Dr. you see. Dr. Valmassoi is fabulous. Unfortunately for her patients she doesn't work full time. Had trouble getting a routine issue resolved f...

Unprofessional 12/31/2008

I never felt as though I was being taken seriously, the doctor was very "rough" with my son, and with the exception of 1 nurse, overall I found this group to be extremely unprofessional. I have since switched my son over to SV Pediatrics in Pachogue and am extremely happy with my decision. more

A Pediatric Wharehouse 11/11/2008

Bad: Basically, most mornings, the practice prioritizes the well visits over the sick visits, unless your kid can't breathe. I was told by the dr. that the delay in seeing my son, who had a double ear. Improvements: infection, really only caused him more discomfort, and, I quote, "he wasn't at risk for permanent hearing loss from the delay." Is this the care we should settle for for our kids?. more

Very Disappointing Experience 9/8/2005

Smithtown Pediatric Group came highly recommended to us by some friends who had been using them for years. Based on that recommendation, we expected professional and courteous service and expert medical advice and evaluations. Unfortunately, we did not get that. My two year old son, who had hardly ever been sick, came down with a very high fever (104 degrees) and was very lethargic. When we called into the Smithtown Pediatric Group it was obvious that they thought I was exaggerating my son's condition because they downplayed its seriousness and said we did not have to bring him into the office. As my son's temperature rose, we decided to rush him in for evaluation. Upon arrival, we were told we had to wait that he could not be seen even by a nurse. The girls at the front desk were obviously inconvenienced by our presence because they refused to make eye contact with us. At one point, an assistant came out and gave me a bottle of infant Tylenol. My son is very tall for his age and infant Tylenol just was not the right medication to disperse to him. No one asked how he was or even made an attempt to take his temperature until I went up to the desk and had a fit!!!! When his temperature was finally taken it was closer to 105 degrees and that's when they took us seriously! We never even received an official diagnosis as to what my son had. I have since left this practice and am ecstatic with my choice of a new pediatric group. If you are looking for personalized attention, this is NOT the place for you. They have too many patients and too few doctors to service them. more
