Skyview Dental Partners, Dr. Malvika Tickoo, DMD

This is hands down one of the best dental offices I have ever been to. Dr. Tickoo, Theresa and the rest of the staff are welcoming and patient. They really know their stuff. I have had cavities filled, root canal and crown work done. Most recently I had to have an implant done with Dr. Greenstein and so far I am happy with the results. Seriously the entire staff is amazingly helpful and knowledgeable. They really made me feel at ease. more

With all the wonderful dentists across the river- why go here? I came in for a routine check-up/cleaning. I had a ""small"" cavity (I swear the dentist made this up to make money). When I came in to get it filled I had the worst experience. First, the doctor had me hanging out with the saliva suction thing in my mouth for over 5 min (not a long time? you try holding that thing in your mouth!). Than, she finally sat down, mumbled something and began to drill my tooth without any novacane! I told her to stop and she very rudely asked if I ""was sensitive to pain?"" I proceeded to tell her that I believed my threshold was average and she begrudgingly got the novacane. Than she starts digging the needle down into my gum and it feels like it's hitting my jaw bone. Finally she gets to the filling. For such a ""small"" filling she could not get it right. It was too high and needed to be fixed and I believe she messed up on the filling. I can deal with bad bedside manners, but now I'm dealing with a painful tooth where the filling was put (it was not hurting when I came in and I'm young with wonderful teeth, so upsetting!) as well as a painful jaw.\r \r I'm not going back to have her look at it. Rather, I'll be heading into the city to a highly recommend doctor to look at what she did. The reviews on this doctor make me very nervous. Her demenour is not nearly bad bedside manner, something is off (drugs? complete apathy? she just doesn't seem present).\r \r I read the bad reviews and still went in because I figured ""oh it's just a routine check-up/cleaning and these people prob had bad teeth or are high maintaince"". Well, a routine check-up for me had turned into a painful tooth, a pain in my jaw, taking numerous days off work, and exposure to radiation due to x-rays. more

This dentist is very professional and thorough. The doctor did a comprehensive evaluation and suggested a step by step treatment plan. She was courteous, prompt & listened to my concerns. I was apprehensive about my root canal but after it was done, I didn't even realize I had a root canal! She was good. Would recommend her for sure. The doctor and her staff followed up after the procedure to make sure I was ok. Very accessible over email too. Give this place a try. more

I went to Skyview dental office in Edgewater as an emergency patient. I had sent an email on Sunday asking to be seen because I was in a lot of pain. I got a prompt reply giving me an appointment first thing Monday morning. Dr. Greenstein who is a surgeon there saw me, talked to me about all my options in detail and asked me to come back later in the day so I can have my tooth extracted that day to get rid of the pain. I also had an implant done and surprisingly with minimal pain. Dr.Greenstein also had his colleague Dr.Tickoo evaluate me and she also took her time to alleviate my fears. She was quite gentle in her demeanor. I have to say the whole procedure was pain free. The office followed up with me that whole week. I am impressed by their professionalism and their follow up care and would highly recommend the practice. I am going back to have rest of my dental work done which I have ignored for years. more

Skyview Dental is a solid dental practice - the lady at the front desk Theresa knows dental insurances well, and was able to answer all my questions and concerns around coverage and pricing. Dr Tickoo, the owner and main dentist is a pro. She was comprehensive in my evaluation and spent a good deal of time on my teeth. She was friendly, approachable and very trustworthy. They do have other dentists in the practice as well so I do not know about them. However, the Skyview staff made me feel welcome right from the beginning. I took my 5 year old son with me, and they even brought out a kids toy car for him to ride on and play with, including a bunch of toys that kept him busy while Dr Tickoo treated me. Then they put Elmo ON for him on a TV screen. The dental room I was in had a nice view of the outside (River Road) and the place was spotless clean. I am pleased with Dr Tickoo and have recommended my family members and friends to go see her. Another cool thing about this practice is they responded to my emails real fast. I could make an appointment by just emailing them at night and it was done in 5 mins. I was also able to schedule follow up visits by email. Nice. more

I had a check up but she did not take enough time to check but took only a minute or less. I am worried if she missed anything. I will not be back there. more
